It is such a pleasure to see a beautiful bookstore like this as they are slowly vanishing in the world.
As an author, I'm always thrilled to see when a bookstore puts that much effort and love into its presentation. I wished, I understood Serbian to have spent hours going through this large selection.

Even though my last children's novel was translated into 11 languagues, Serbian was not among those languagues. I hope one day it will be, so I can visit this beautiful store again. :-)

Most beautiful bookshop in Belgrade. Lovely interior and the workers are friendly. The bookstore is located in the very center of the city in Knez Mihajlova Street. Be sure to visit

Просветна књижара, галерија, историја, традиција и велико место Српске културе. Док је ,,Цига био други човек све је функционисало. Кад је постао први дошло је време да пакује кофере. После њега срећом дошла је громада Српске културе ,,Јован Јањић ". Важно је да књижара траје и буде светионик једног дивног времена.

Zgrada knjžare Gece Kona je stara preko sto godina. Knjižara je otvorena 1901. godine i dobila ime svog osnivača , izdavača ,knjižara i filantropa. Geca Kon je rođen 1873. godine u Čongradu u Austrougarskoj. U Zemunu pohađa trgovačku školu a zatim gimnaziju u Novom Sadu a od 1889.radi u knjižari. U Beogradu 1901. godine otvara knjižaru u Knez Mihajlovoj br.1. Zgrada je kulturno dobro grada Beograda.
