Zavičaj

We had a lovely lunch on a cold, rainy day. Our waiter, Vladimir, was very friendly and helpful even though the restaurant was very busy. The food was very tasty, we tried the "pork stew with vegetables and hot peppers" and "kebab zavičaj". Loved the hot bread. Would recommend, especially if you like meat and potatoes. The craft beer was a winner too.

Local food with great interior. Mostly pork and chicken, different kebabs but with tasty spieces. Halloumi could be more grilled. nice atmosphere - something like a mountain’s vibe.

We ate here twice during our stay and enjoyed both times. First visit we had pljeskavica and spicy sausage, second time was beef goulash and roast veal. Would happily eat all four again.
The atmosphere was relaxed, and the traditional decor improved the cosy feeling. It is a chain restaurant and not an authentic independent tavern, but they do what they do very well.

Probably the reference place to eat typical food from Serbia, so expect it to be very busy and possibly not finding a table if you don't book ahead.

Food was really tasty, decent portions and prices affordable. I'd say it is a must stop if you visit Belgrade (assuming you can find a table).

We were lucky that they allowed us to sit (and later move tables, due to a reservation) even at 3pm. Staff was really nice and welcoming.

Traditional Serbian food. We went to two different shops of Zavičaj in different areas of Belgrade, and both were great. The portion is huge and their homemade cake is delicious.

This place is unbelievably authentic. You will feel real taste and that specific serbian touch if you try any traditional dish. Customer focused, motivated and dedicated personnel. With traditional decoration and traditional music playing at the background complete joy for all senses if you are looking for real traditional serbian restaurant in Belgrade, serving homemade food. My favourite now. I would give more stars if I could. Perfect!

Very nice place to enjoy Balkan cuisine. Reasonable prices and portions (not so huge as you might expect from reviews). Quite a lot of tourists. We loved steak karadžordžev, roasted peppers with cheese and baklava.

A traditional restaurant of Serbian cuisine, with an authentic and interesting ambience. The service is fast, the staff is always extremely friendly, and the food is excellent. The restaurant is highly recommended. Especially for foreign tourists who want to taste the taste of real Serbian cuisine and traditional Serbian hospitality.

I love embracing local culture and flavors, which led me to discover this authentic restaurant. I visited twice and both times confirmed the genuine food and the kindness of the staff. Hvala puno to the waiter who took care of me on both occasions. I'm truly grateful for the warmth he provided, making my evenings serene and enjoyable. The food is outstanding, portions are generous, and the ambiance is fantastic. Whenever I return to Belgrade, this restaurant will be my go-to spot. I highly recommend it!

If you’re a foreigner looking to try the most traditional dishes that the Serbian cousine has to offer, then look no further. Everything was just exceptional.

It is a place you should definitely go with a reservation, but you should definitely go. I can't think of a place where you can take a closer look at the Serbian taste, be enchanted by its decoration, and where the menu can help so much while choosing a meal. Try the local beer.

We found this place randomly while walking around in our first night and took our chance to find a table. I'm so glad we did! It became my favorite restaurant in Belgrade. The food is authentic, the portions are huge, and the atmosphere is lovely. Not a touristic place at all and I loved it. The staff knows English well. We ordered the house wine and it was delicious. Try the "Sarma" and thank me later. Everything was at a great price we were so surprised.

The big meatball is perfect, you need to try sauce plate that has special serbian tastes, also we came for breakfast after morning the omlettes and service is very nice

First time in Serbia and my first time eating Serbian food, we had a feast of meats (mixed grilled), the pork is a must, crispy and salty as it should be,😁, wine from the country and the local liqueur made with quince, apricots and plums! Great service!

Terrific traditional Serbian restaurant. Food was excellent prices were fair. Server was attentive and very nice. The goulash was so good, highly recommend. We also had the pork stew with peppers and the karadjordjeva steak. Both were terrific.

Amazing quality food and great traditional atmosphere. Definitely recommended for people who want to taste traditional Serbian dishes!
