The oldest preserved tavern in Belgrade. It is a completely unique experience..an authentic Serbian coffee served in a traditional way, so delicious traditional Serbian sweets and well know Serbian cousin. Warm and welcoming staff, the highest level of professionalism!!

First, this place is not a hotel and the star ratings should be revised to show it as a restaurant.

We had a delightful lunch in a destination place for us. It is the oldest continuously running kaffana in the Balkans and maybe Europe. The building is well worn from years of use and beautiful with its nooks and crannies and places to sit and eat.

We sat in the back patio or courtyard area and it was great. No smokers and protection from the off and on again rain.

The staff were super friendly to us. I don’t think they speak much English but they were helpful and mindful.

We ordered goulash, grilled veggies, and a local favorite salad of blended red peppers and eggplant. I have never had a brown goulash, but why not, the word simply means stew and not red stew. It was fantastic. The veggies were perfectly cooked and the salad with bread was scrumptious.

And yes, we had coffee too.

We live here and will be back. It’s a 15-18 minute walk from our apartment. We see that many people don’t like that it is touristy, but if I were a tourist, I would want to come too.

Big shout out and kudos for keeping ? alive and well.

We had Pleskavice and Beef gulyash it was delicious. The 🥩 was really very tasty.
100% Recommend this 2 meals.
However the lemonade was 1 out of 10, it was just squeezed lemon with still water aaand taste was soso(do not recommend it).
Overall recommend this place, coz the food is good. You will love it.

Decent food. Reasonable price. Older gentlemen who survived us was polite and professional. To those who think he is rude, you need to develop a sense of humour. Also, it's polite to tip.

Was recommended this restaurant by a friend who used to live in Belgrade.
It’s a popular place that fills quickly. We ordered some Serbian salad, cabbage rolls and stuffed paprikas. We were overall satisfied with our food and had a good time. Unfortunately the terrace was not lit so the pictures came out a little blurry.

You travel back in history when you eat in this place. This is one of the oldest pub in Serbia serving traditional food. We had cevapcici here and it was just delicious. They have still kept the old decor in place. Service is bit slow but you can overlook that for the taste of fresh food and that hot fresh made bread.

Great restaurant to try traditional Serbian cuisine. The patio at the back is lovely and cozy. We went there at 7 pm and it was quite peaceful. The service was extreme fast, prices were reasonable. The staff was quite friendly and nice. We had some šopska salata ( cucumber, onion, tomato salad with cheese) and Pljeskavica (a kind of meatball with minced meat, chicken breast, cheese and onion) for main course. Everything was super tasty.

One of the oldest kafana in Belgrade… interior is still in its original form, more or less!
Step back in time and enjoy some of the domestic food and drinks.
The staff will be more than happy to give you a tour inside and tell you a little bit more about the rich history of this amazing place!
Coffe is great, served in a traditional way. And also try some of the great domestic brandy. I recommended quince brandy!
They accept cards.
Highly recommended!

Had a great experience here! Service was excellent & very friendly. Food was delicious and very well priced. Didn't take any pics of food as we were too busy digging in, but we can definitely recommend the Karadjordjeva, the Ćevapi with kajmak and the beans with sausage. The beer & bread is also good!

The historic restaurant (it's said to be the oldest still-serving in Belgrade) is located near St. Michael's Cathedral (a must visit in the city). The furniture inside and the atmosphere are vintage, traditional. You can sit in the inner terrace or in front of the restaurant, on the sidewalk, with a direct view on the cathedral (a more inspired choice, in our opinion). The meal, not sophisticated but still authentically Serbian, is well prepared and the prices are really moderate. The waiters are funny and sometimes noisy (some of them) or sober (the others), they all try to offer the best service but sometimes miss some details 😀.
A good choice for tourists who want to try the local flavors, Znak Pitanja is frequented by local people as well.

Oldest restaurant in Belgrade serving traditional food. I had the veal soup and stuffed peppers with mashed potatoes while my husband had the pork escalope schnitzel. Overall, food was nice, our waitress spoke English and was efficient. Very nice original decor too!

The quality of food was very good as well as the service and the waiting time was acceptable. The decoration is very attractive with old style tables and chairs although they are not very comfortable. Different types of Rakija are served and all the food on the Menu were available.
At the end we could not pay separately and one of us payed the total amount for all. The rest of service was ok. It might be a good option to have a Serbian dish especially as the lunch.

We had dinner here in September 2023. First time I had cevapcici as a main course and then tufahije for dessert. It was one of the best meals in my life! The meat was so juicy and rich! And the tufahije taste was so well balanced! The waiter was great as a professional, but also funny as a character.

We were happy when we were advised to go to this nice and cozy restaurant. the cuisine was great - the meat was just perfectly roasted! and it's so nice, we were helped to choose dishes by a man who was not young at all, but such an attentive and amazing-looking man. Thank you for the preserved atmosphere of the old town and the delicious food
