Risovača Cave

Today was only 8c° inside the cave while outside was very hot 34c°
Due to temperature difference it wasn't possible to visit cave today but we will go another day for sure!

Great place to visit and get to know many interesting facts and stories, the guides were fantastic.

Tour guide was amazing guy who answered all our questions and gave great explanations. If you are in vicinity of Aranđelovac, make sure to make a detour to visit this place.

Very nice place to visit, near Topola and Arandjelovac, found accidentally by local people. Short guided tour for 200 dinars (less then 2 eur) is really nice and good to combine with visit of Oplenac Royal complex.

Beautiful and educational experience. Also, buying a ticket to the cave gives you entrance to the museum and Orašac. Great family activity

It was a very pleasant visit. The tour guide was knowledgeable and the cave is interesting. Call in advance to ask about the time of the tours.

This is a most amazing glance into the past. See a reconstruction of how Neanderthal cavemen lived tens of thousands of years ago, a cave lion (extinct for 11000 years) and cave bear (one of the first ice age animals to go extinct 25000 years ago). Add the National Museum Arandjelovac to your visit, where many artefacts are being kept. Not a place to miss!

Interesting, small cave, nice and well informed, polite guide!

At the entrance of Aranđelovac there is pećina Risovača (Risovača cave). It is one of the most famous Paleolithic sites in Europe, as a habitat of man from the ice age. In this cave the fossil bones of cave bear, mammoth, rhinoceros, cave lion, leopard and deer were discovered, as well as interesting artifacts that represent elements of culture of early and late Paleolithic. The central place is given to sculptures made of polyethylene resins, which represent a Paleolithic family: father makes the fire, mother carries wood, one son makes tools, and the other one is ready to go hunting. Because of its archeological and paleontological importance, and because of its natural value, this cave vas declared for cultural heritage and it is protected as a natural monument of the first category.

Interesting place and a polite tour guide, we were late for the tour, we joined the tour halfway, but when she finished she went back and did the first half for us again.

Interesting tourstic place to visit. Cave is amazing, you can se sculpturs of cave people and animals. Excellent for children!
