Following the conversion of the Hagia Sophia to a mosque in July 2020, the Patriarch of Serbia Irinej and Serbia's president Aleksandar Vučić in August 2020 expressed their wish the Saint Sava Church would symbolically replace the Hagia Sophia, after which it was modelled, and become a "New Hagia Sophia".

From outside the building, you would never believe the grandeur of this church. It was magnificently magical. It's simple and amazing how people can imagine, draw, form, and build something so beautiful. It's so peaceful inside.

Amazing place!!!I suggest to all peiple that come in Belgrade to visit Saint Sava temple.Saint Sava is one of most respected saints in Serbia and temple is built on ace where hes bones are burned by the otoman empire.You will notice great difference between ortodox and modern catolic temples and churches.
