"Saint Michael" Fortified Church

Very nice piece of history here. The church is on top of an abrupt hill. You have to buy tickets (2 euro), then climb a staired road for 5-10 minutes. Thr view from the top is breath taking and the church itself with the walls is very beautiful. You can feel the history. Don't forget to scan thr QR codes around if you want to hear thr history of the church.

It is a very nice fortified church, very nice scenery around also. Beware, you can only pay cash for the entry, which is 10 lei for adults.
After a few minutes of climbing fairly easy stairs, you'll get to the fortress which is on the peak of the hill.
The walls and outside are quite well preserved, and it looked like they were doing renovations inside.
Other then that, there are a lot of benches around were you can rest and enjoy the panorama, and also thought the complex you can find qr codes with stories of the various parts of the monastery, so you can also learn a bit of history and local traditions.
If you have the chance, definetly visit!

Nice views and the Churchill itself is in a good state. Worth the walk upstairs and I had a lot of fun taking pictures, the place is kind of poetic.

Very beautiful place from where you can see the entire area. It's simple but with a great vibe.
We were lucky to find some young people who created an amazing small medieval market where you can play all sort of medieval games, sell goods and share their knowledge about those times. Great job to them!!!

Very nice and simple church on the top of a small sharp hill, old historical place, with a very nice panoramic view over Cisnădioara, 5-10 minutes to walk up on the hill, the visit may take 10-15 minutes

Worth a visit. An important landmark in the area. Few steps to climb and nice to have few minutes up there to look at the panoramas. Less than €2 \ person.

Little history gem hidden on a hill, there was a time when everything was built in stone. Tickets to visit the place reasonably priced, a short walk uphill and a place to reflect about our ancestors - take the time to get there!

The Church of St. Michael in Cisnadioara (Michelsberg in German, in translation [Mount] St. Michael) is a historical and architectural monument from the thirteenth century, a representative building for Romanesque art in Transylvania.

The monument is special due to the fact that it has not been modified over time, as has happened with most churches in Transylvania. Some changes were made after the invasion of the Tartars in 1241, when it was set on fire.

To visit it, it is worth the effort to climb Mount Mihail, where steps have been built to facilitate access regardless of the season and weather conditions.

A very beautiful piece of history well presented and conserve. Really enjoyed the time spent. The view specially in autumn is amazing.

The place is beautiful and peaceful. The church is really well preserved and the view of Cisnadioara is gorgeous.

Must see if you are near by. The entrance fee is 2 euros and the walk up to the citadel is quite easy

One more beautiful place near Sibiu. Way to this place from Sibiu is amazing. Thick forest and clean roads, beautiful houses 🥳 lovey.

Cisnadioara is located 2 km from Cisnadie town and 10 km from Sibiu. From Sibiu, you start on the road to Rasinari and then you will follow the pointer to the left. In 5 km you will reach Cisnadioara and the road to the fortress will be guided by this one, being visible on the hill of Saint Michael.Nice.

Beautiful old church, a truly spiritual place.

Easy to climb and great views from up there. Entrance is 8 lei for adults and 5 for students.

Very cool ancient Citadel/church/fortress. Beautiful view of the village and the Fagaras mountains in the distance.

Place worth visiting. You need to buy tickets before entering. Road up is a bit steep but quite short. When you will reach top view is very nice. Church is in quite good condition. There are some signs with QR codes. You can scan them and listen to some interesting informations about this place.

Just a short trip from Sibiu, I recommend visiting this peaceful oasis. Bear in mind that you do have to climb a few stairs.
