Tasty and cozy. Grilled salmon and vegetables, polenta with cracklings, brains, sausages and beans - it was all excellent. Delicious. The price is good. Service is decent. I recommend.

The service was great and really pleasant but unfortunately we had a bad experience with the "papanasi" here.
In our stay in Ranca, every single day we eat papanasi, so in this day when we visited Târgu Jiu and stopped eating at Hanul Domnesc of course we ordered papanasi.
They were very nice on the outside but they were not cooked so we told the waitress about the problem.
We understand that she has no fault for this, but she didn't know how to handle the situation.
We didn't eat them when we saw them like that, but she still put them on the bill after the complain.

Expect of this thing everything was delicious.

The restaurant is a great choice for cheap and quality food. The design of the restaurant is traditional and even the waiters are dress accordingly. It has a great atmosphere. I ordered a neetle doup with bread and a syrup limonade and it turned out a very impressive lunch. I totally recommend this retaurant!

Really tasty traditional Romanian food, everything I had here was absolutely delicious. The prices are quite good taking into account that a lot of the products they are using are home made (natural ingredients).
A small disadvantage would be that there is no parking places available in front of the restaurant, but there are some really close to the place.

Great traditional food in a picturesque traditional atmosphere. There was an English menu and we were able to pick what we wanted, with help from the hostess. The food was delicious, very original and it comes in big portions. Prices are very normal. Along with every order comes a big basket of home made bread, very tasty, so watch out not to stuff yourselves before the food comes. The restaurant also has an external terrace for the warmer months. Highly recommended.

Absolutely loved the place, came here last night for the first time and had dinner. I went for "Fasole cu ciolan" and the meat was so tender and tasty, it was incredible!

I have worked here 3 years ago. The food is always fresh and absolutely delicious, and the kitchen has always been extremely clean. Beautiful rustic atmosphere in the middle of the city set by the old songs playing in the background and the welcoming decor. Last but not least, the owners treat their employees with a huge amount of respect and are the most humble and caring people that I have ever met. 👏👏👏👏👏

The best tables are downstairs in the old cellar.
