Breathtaking and extraordinary gorge. A quite underrated place for everyone to visit. This place is just about a 30-40 minute drive from Cluj-Napoca. The hike to reach the top can be done by anyone. It is best to come here from Copăceni, and follow the blue circle on the right to get the wonderful view when you reach Tureni Gorge. It was peaceful and relaxing at the top, but you still need some effort to hike 30 minutes.

If you want to camp in the valley.. don't do it, it's crowded, very loud. You should rather go up at the top of the canyon/gorge. There are no people, it is very quiet and you can see down at the canyon and you can even see the sunset/sunrise.

Amazing place! Very wild, hopefully it will stay like this for a long time! A few places where strenght, agility and attention is needed. Safety gear is recommended for the first part, which is a via ferrata. There are also parts where the course can be by-passed on the other side of the river if you find it that's too hard to do the course. Enjoy it!!

We expected a walk, but got into a small adventure.
The trail is alongside a small river and is quite challenging in some spots. You can not cross unless you attach to a steel cable, like a small via ferata. It is better to come prepared with climbing equipment. The trail itself is almost 2 hours. From there you can either come back or take the path through the ridge and which takes about 1 hour.
If you are in the neighbourhood, don't miss it!

Very nice view from the top of the gorge, easily accessible by car or on foot.

Challenging trail, but hard for a beginner. Make sure you bring some gloves and don't come unprepared! On the other hand, amazing via ferrata hike with lots of challenging spots and nice views.
Make sure you check the weather before you come!
I recommend it!

A nice place to have a picnic or to go for a hike or climb , it's a short drive from Cluj-Napoca and has a great view .

A highly recommended place to enjoy the peace of nature plus a gorgeous view. The trail on the river level has arranged some via ferrata segments, so even more adventurous trip, but nothing of a difficult level. The sad part is that some areas are private, and are ruining the view of the place. It is not so clean at places. for nature lovers to fully enjoy such natural beauties.

After rain it is slippery, so proper shoes needed. Amazing cliffs.

A nice walking ( and a bit of climbing ) if you want to enjoy a little bit of mother Earth.

Some parts of the journey requires to use some chains, but it's not that hard. It looks much harder than it really is.

The chains are pretty new and I don't think they will break soon.

Duration:
~45 - 70 min one-way (near the river)
~30 - 45 min wa-back (on the top)

Advices:
- take a bottle of water (min 1l)
- wear some hat
- use spf
- wear adequate clothes and shoes (not jeans, not slippers, not normal sneakers)
- !!!enjoy your trip!!!

Beautiful place, I like how they arranged it now, made it a bit of a challenge, really nice to enjoy it for people who want their hands to get dirty, meaning like to have an adventurous experience rather than vanilla one .Although disappointed how come people managed to buy the land there and make it private property completely ruining it,years ago was amazing ,that is the only really bad part of the experience.Should be free and clear for nature lovers to fully enjoy such natural beauties.

There are places among the route where the path is more difficult. Pay attention on the way through because the path is very slippery and thought.
I would recommend equipment for this route. (Shoes, gloves and maybe helmet, chains). - depends how good you are. Also I would not recommend to go with kids under 12 years.

Loved it ! Be prepared for a bit of wilderness while you walk through the beautiful Tureni Gorge. Some portions of the path require via ferrata technical equipment such as harness, helmet, trekking shoes, safety rope, etc. There is an info board which also states this at the entrance of the Gorge, however if you prefer to hike on the top of the gorge, you don't require special equipment.

Always a pleasure. Tureni is never overcrowded. Good climbing routes (free sports climbing, starting at 6 and goes up), the via ferrata route is good for beginners, the tour on the top for people who enjoy only hiking. Basically there is something for everyone.

A wild & nice canyon, now equipped with via ferrata at the creek (water) level. Unfortunately all the trash from above settlements lands here, and they are not cleaned up :-(

The trail starts from the village of Tureni, where Racilor creek penetrates the narrow cliffs. Walk past the old watermill, not used anymore, and then through a quarry, between the walls, continue along the stream. The trail requires a lot of attention and it is recommended to do it in dry weather and when the level of the water is low. Although short, the gorge has a special charm. Walk along the stream, through lush vegetation, on one side or the other. There is only one place where the trail leaves the stream and temporarily goes up on the right bank to by-pass a small waterfall. There is also a more difficult section where the trail climbs the cliffs on the left bank and where there used to be a long cable. Get out of the gorge and reach a group of cottages near a small lake, where a gravel road leads you to the village of Copaceni through a scenic area popular with picnic enthusiasts.

So close to the city of Cluj-Napoca but it's a great piece natural location. You can go through the valley, get a short hike or just camp around it.

I think people started to appreciate its beauty more and more during the pandemic.

It's an unprecedented natural value in Romania, especially in botanical sense.
