Great place to visit daytime or evening. Lively atmosphere and very pretty when lit up at nightime. Lots of restaurants and bars to choose from. Great place for kids as no cars pass by and they have a mini fairground and a few stalls. The church in the square is also very prettty. All in all a great place to visit if you are in the area.

Great heart to the beautiful town of Vilareal de Santo Antonio. Numerous restaurants, beautiful church, great space that fills with market stalls and stages for music and dance concerts throughout the summer.
The architecture is unusual and beautiful, above all how the loft windows are designed.

During our recent trip to Portugal, we discovered the beautiful town of Vila Real de San António ("VSRA"), at the far Eastern end of the Algarve coast. Designed by Marquês de Pombal, the same person who was responsible for rebuilding Lisbon (Lisboa) following the tragic earthquake in the latter 1700s, the town is unique in being built "new" on a grid layout, and with wider streets than other historic towns. There's a ferry that crosses the river for the 9-minute ride to Ayamonte, Spain, where we had a wonderful lunch and walk around, before taking the ferry back across the river. Be aware that the time zone in Ayamonte is one hour later than in VSRA!

Beautiful and very accessible.

There was a festival going on in the Square, with traditional dancing . We had cevejas and delicious cake .

Market and fair on currently very good, lots of stalls in the square. Food drink local crafts. Live music by ferry terminal.

A beautiful square with lots of bars and cafés to sit in and watch the world go by.

Great place to relax when you visit Vila Real Santo Antônio. A small city but has great view, friendly locals, and many local sellers here. You can visit the place for free. I spent less than 1 hour here before going back to Tavira. It is worth to visit this city of you have free time.

Surrounded by orange trees this historical square is at the end of a great pedestrian shopping area, mixing tourist and every day needs.

Beautiful little town, great restaurant's harbour is lovely, will be back.

A family place for vacation a 10 minute boat ride to Spain to eat Tapas

Fantastic location, unbelievable architecture and a perfect example of illuminism.
Overall location is really quaint and people are welcoming and very warm.

A wonderful central square in a beautiful Algarve city. A quintessential Portuguese town not spoiled by tourism! The Praça is filled with cafes, restaurants, craft booths, children playing, musicians and relaxed strollers. Heavenly! (And open all night! Well, practically)
