Small town but great taste. Wife and had two different dishes and both were great. Highly recommended.

We arrived at noon and there were no tables left for the day. Luckily, before we left to find somewhere else to have lunch, a staff member looked for us and told us he could book us for 2pm. We accepted his offer and came back 2 hours later. Food was incredible as well as house's wine. Service was perfect, everybody gentle and light. They also sell their own bread outside the restaurant, which is delicious. This place is a must go if you're in Évora!

Amazing place with rustic and authentic historical decoration. Food was amazing, rich and regional tasty. And generous size portions.
The staff was very friendly. For sure a reference every time I visit Évora

Typical restaurant from this region of Portugal which is a good thing! Well decorated, friendly staff, not big and you must book in advance.
The food was delicious and the atmosphere is relaxed and cosy. A place to come back.

Cosy place, with amazingly cooked local delights. Always a pleasure go there, with friends mostly to enjoy every single suggestion from the team. From the food to the wine pairing, the home-me bread...It's must go!

I visit here every time I’m in Portugal.
The food is out of this world! You can see how much love and care is put into the food and it’s filled with so much history.

My favourite restaurant that I need to visit every year. I always make sure I get the tomato soup, the feijoada, and the baba de camelo for dessert. We’ve done a lot of “research” and we still can’t find any restaurants in Portugal (or outside) that come close to this place for these recipes.

Do yourself a favor and try the Tomatada. I had the feijoada alentejana for main course, which was good, but paled in comparison. The vegetarian options were scant, but my family was happy with the peixinhos da horta. Service was top and, on their recommendation, we tried a verdelho wine (Ponte) which is among the best we had in Portugal. The ambience and food were great. Reservations are a must.

Excellent traditional Portuguese cuisine in a rustic and friendly environment, inside a mill.

Super authentic. A must visit in Evora. The host is so friendly and took his time to explain to us about the history of the food and the restaurant and about the bread that was founded by his father in law. The bread taste so good. The traditional food is amazing especially the tomato soup. The taste is speechless as it’s so tasty. It was so good that we went back there for lunch the next day to try their other dishes. The decoration of the restaurant is nice and special. Make sure you visit the windmill which is actually still in use. We will definitely be back there again on our next trip to Portugal.

Hidden gem in Évora! Next to a beautiful windmill, you'll find most of the traditional dishes from Alentejo, all homemade and delicious! Also, don't skip dessert, you won't regret it.

Very nice and cozy place. Staff is 5* and very helpful. About the food... It is just delicious! Highly recommend the tomato soup, but everything else is also delicious, specially food made in the wood oven.
Will be back again!

This is the kind of place that makes sweet memories for your trips. My husband and I went there twice during our three days visit of Evora. Not only all the food was authentic and delicious, even more precious was that the people there genuinely care about you having a good experience, they made us feel so welcomed and at home. They patiently explained, recommended, and even showed us the traditional local dishes. In addition, the prices are very reasonable and dishes come in smaller portions so you can try and share a variety of food. This is truly a must visit when you are in Evora.

Amazing place, really nice people and man.. the food. Feels like a direct connection to Portuguese medieval food, tastes incredible and genuine. I recommend the Tomato Soup and the Grand Ma secret (they won’t tell you what it is - you just have to trust them ;D).

Every time we visit Evora, it’s a place we try to visit, specially for dinner, because closing the meal with a drink outside while savouring that last light of the day, just feels as authentic Alentejo as possible.

We had lunch here a couple of days ago as a family of four and had a fantastic meal. This is really doing justice to the old school style Portuguese cuisine. All the dishes were extremely well prepared. Been eating in Portugal for 16 years and this was really the best classic meal I have had.
Only fresh, high quality ingredients used. Clearly lots of dishes where the time was taken to prepare them (read- hours). Our waiter was a young super friendly guy that also engaged positively with the kids which always scores some bonus points. The setting is also very quant which was nice for the kids.
