Beautiful Roman ancient ruine in the middle of the Évora. The history of the monument is also interesting, if was used as a castle tower and later as a slaughter house. The current state of the ruine of the temple is nice. You can see the entrance to the altar. You cannot enter the temple.

Absolutely breathtaking! To be able to feel as though you with history in a single moment.
Our family were the only people there to be in that moment.... with that history....
Absolutely incredible!

Yes, I know I look like a dork. But it's better than the emotional pic I had a few minutes later.

This Roman temple is very well preserved, and is truly a sight to behold. The lights make it look beautiful at night, a must-visit location if you're nearby. It's also located right next to the cathedral, so you can visit simultaneously.

It was a weekend getaway, there's nothing much to view at the Templo Romano Évora, it's just simple as how it looks at the photos, ruins. We took some pictures and there's a small café and a garden close by so you could rest and explore more.

Beautiful place. This ruin is original, not a reconstruction! Those Romans could build!

This is a nice spot to sit on a late summer afternoon and soak up some sun. The ruin is impressive, and it's right next to the Museum do Frei Manuelo do Cenáculo and very near the Cathedral of Evora.

Love coming back to this place. Brings me childhood memories. It’s incredible to see such an old structure embedded in the middle of this amazing city, inspiring with its presence for centuries. There is no Évora without its ex-libris 🤩

The Roman temple site in Evora is one that I initially expected to be bigger by the pictures I had seen before but was humbled by how small it was. Although small, the visit is absolutely worth it anytime any day. It is not a usual or regular thing to find such world heritage site from the first century. Also the view from the south of the temple gives you an amazing sight of the town of Evora top down. To visit the museu/church beside it, you need tickets and can readily access it without fear of a long queue or a wait time. The place has free Wi-Fi so you don’t have to worry about communication and the temple is so centrally located you can walk to visit other historical sites around the area.

The Roman temple of Evora is the main landmark ot this city, who is inscribed in the Unesco heritage list. The temple was dedicated to the worship of the roman emperor, though locals used to call it temple of Diana, erroneously. The structure was incorporated to later buildings, this is how it was saved from total destruction. It is surrounded now by a square with several historical buildings, so you can stroll freely to see it at any time. Admire the (more than a dozen) columns, standing high, crowned with corinthian style capitals, so to contemplate on the imperialist history of Roman Lusitania.

Evora is an amazing medieval town... loved the narrow streets.. the pantheon... the walls... the church's and the bone cathedral...

Food all around is great

Some really cool history here. The temple is quite well-preserved and lots of space around to appreciate it with fewer crowds than some other places. The nearby park helps break up the crowds as well. It's basically next door to the cathedral so it's extremely convenient to visit both and the temple has no cost. We went back at night as well to see it lit up, also worthwhile and I recommend seeing it both in daytime and at night!
