Chalé do Dragão (Xisto Stone Village Tarrastal)

Absolutely breathtaking place in the mountains. What a treat to be able to stay in a historic chalé and wake up to birds chirping, surrounded by forest, in a peaceful village. It’s the kind of place you visit when you’re wanting to get away from the bustle of the city but still have access to what you need nearby. I loved wandering around the village, exploring walking and running paths, and driving to neighboring villages to see what’s going on. The chalé was clean and tidy, is built with the charming rock from the surrounds, and has a new kitchen if you’re wanting to cook at home. I loved sitting on the patio in the mornings with tea and watching the sun set over the trees. I’ve been in summer and autumn and I can’t wait to visit again.

Lovely pearl hidden in a mountain village! Very isolated and great place to be at peace.
