Hotel Nova Sintra

We had an absolutely fabulous time. Our room was clean and very attentively maintained, the breakfast options were pretty varied and all delicious, but most of all our host Rui was incredibly helpful and kind. His recommendations for restaurants in town, including neighboring towns, and tips on how to get places were invaluable and made our stay in this beautiful town all the more memorable. We were sad to leave.

Mr Rui is detail oriented and takes great care of the family business. He stood out as an amazing host and travel guide! He’s always there to answer your questions. Our trip wouldn’t have gone that smooth without his insider tips and tour planning!

I first want to say thank you to Rui. He was by far the best host I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. The room was very nice and clean. The private patio was without a view but still nice, quiet and private. We had the option of a view or patio and we chose the patio, although the view was fantastic. He recommended great places to eat, gave great direction and was the perfect host. I loved the breakfast. It was healthy, fresh and refreshing. A great way to start my morning. I could not have asked for more. When I go back to Sinatra, I will stay here again. He made the trip to Sinatra perfect. I thanks him so much and I can't wait to visit again.

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel not only because of its location near the Sentra train station and walkable distance from the historic old center but primarily due to the amazing host (Rut) whom was incredibly helpful throughout my stay. The hotel is perch above the street level and requires to take several stairs up to get the hotel’s level and thankfully, Rut was there to assist me even taking my suitcase all the way to my room.

A nice free BK is included with the room fees.

If you come by car, there is a free parking lot (P2) nearby the hotel behind and below the blue building but you must arrive early in the morning to get a spot before everybody arrives for sightseeing the various attractions in Sentra (Pena Palace, Moores castle, old town).

From start to finish this was truly a splendid stay. The hotel is very close to the train station. Walkable for sure although i did not use it. We booked 3 rooms and one was with a terrace. The terrace did not offer a view but was a great place to hang out which we did often. Rooms are clean and the breakfast makes this place seem so homely. Add to that Rui the owner and it is a truly winning combination. He gives you all guidance on what to see and how to get there. There are lots of small restaurants close by and some of them are open till late. There is parking very close to the property but I don't think it is guaranteed and would not want to put Rui on the spot. Reach out to him directly because he is so friendly and being a local he is privy to nuances of the area that only a local can give. I would stay here over Lisbon and in this hotel without a doubt.

The owner (probably) is great. He gave us lots of information and helped us with the luggage. You can feel, that he likes what he's doing and he's born for hospitality. The rooms are great, not extraordinarily luxurious, but definitely well suited for two people.

Rui is the perfect gentleman who takes his time to explain the local treasures in the area. The rooms are very clean, the terrace overlooks a wonderful view, you are within walking distance to all of the monuments and the breakfast is a great bonus. Highly recommend!

What an amazing hotel. The 10 room property is family owned since 1947 and operated by Rui and his wife (I learned while enjoying their complimentary breakfast). The rooms are great but the service is what makes the hotel so wonderful. Need a restaurant reservation, a site recommendation, an bottle opener, or extras of something?, Rui is your solution. Looking forward to coming back.

Excellent hotel, easy to get to from train station, and great location. As noted by others, Rui was a great help. Very friendly and quick with suggestions, whether you are looking for a restaurant or recommendations on the best way to get around and what to see.

Found this family owned boutique hotel in Sintra online was overwhelmed by the property. The Geñeral Manager Rio was absolutely fantastic and answered all our questions and looked after all our needs. His staff were also very customer focused. The rooms are Fantastic, breakfast was very good and the outdoor patio facing the street was very comfortable. Would stay here again and again, with no hesitation. Well done!

Beautiful hotel in a great location in Sintra. Rui is very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast is great and there's a comfortable terrace with excellent views of the hills. We're very pleased with our stay here

Very friendly staff. Loved the vibe and "homey" nature. Great view of the hill and the Moorish castle which is lit up at night. Beautiful spot on the patio to enjoy with a beer after a day of touring. Solid breakfast and rooms too!

This is a great little hotel in a handy location in Sintra just a couple of mins from the train station. Main tourist destinations are only a short stroll away as well as handy bus links.

Really well kept and can really feel the love and attention put into the place. Has an amazing terrace area with views of the castle up on the hill. A great spot to end the day with a drink or two. Rooms are spacious, clean with comfortable enough beds and pillows. Breakfast is also quite good with a wide selection so everyone should be covered. Last but not least the service of the place is fantastic. Rui does an incredible job to go out of his way to help and to make you feel welcome. Thanks Rui

We loved staying at this place. The owner and staff were super friendly, helpful and welcoming. We couldn't have felt more at home! Our room was bright, clean and offered a spectacular view of the Castelo dos Mouros. Also the location is great, just a 5 minutes walk from the railway/bus station that takes you to all the castles and other sights in the Sintra mountains.

This is a great place to stay, everything from the helpful host, very tasty breakfast and the beautiful and extremely clean room. I loved my stay, it’s perfectly located in sintra right next to the train station. Would love to come back again, thank you again.

The hotel has a very special and captivating feeling. The owner, Sr. Rui is outstanding. He will give you support 24/7 if you need--and he does that with his heart. Breakfast is included and is also prepared and displayed with absolute care. Hotel has a great view to the castle and the beautiful green hills of Sintra. The terrace is large and magic with tables and chairs - - great to sit with friends or a companion. It is well located. Lots of restaurants around. Also next door you find a pharmacy and a holistic center (with shiatsu, supplements, and other natural healing treatments). I would come back here whenever I am in Sintra.

Amazing place. Hotel is beautiful and clean. Room was grey and had a private balcony. The terrace is amazing and has a beautiful view of the Moorish Castle. Staff go above and beyond for you. Location was perfect for us also.

Really charming hotel/BnB operated by the owner himself. Really excellent stay overall - really should be a 3-star hotel!
