Hotel Oriental

Stayed 4 nights in January. Excellent beachfront hotel, friendly helpful reception staff. We were upgraded to a very good size ground floor room (608) overlooking the gardens and beach. The room was immaculate, comfortable beds, very good bathroom with powerful walk in shower.
Breakfast in the restaurant was superb. Huge amount of choice. Even accompanied by a very good pianist.
I would definitely stay here again. Very impressed. Great value for money.

We stayed here as part of a holiday package we had booked with Tui. The hotel is really nice, location is wonderful with private access to the beach. The room was large and spacious. A plus for me was that the room was cleaned every day, which is quite a pleasant change compared to most hotels now where you need to request room cleaning specifically during your stay.

The breakfast buffet was varied and had enough choices. I don't think I've ever had such a full breakfast before, with so many choices. We never had lunch or dinner here, so I can't comment about that.

Best part is it is adult-only, so no screaming kids running around :D

We booked front sea view room. We enjoyed sunrise every morning in the room. The breakfast buffet is with a wide range of selections. At my husband’s birthday, they even prepared a bottle of wine and cake for him. It was a wonderful surprise to my husband.

We could not fault this hotel. Ideal location. Lots of little walks just outside the door offering amazing views . Near to shops and cafes but not to near . The hotel it’s self if exceptionally clean and the staff take pride in their hotel. We had a lovely room that had all we needed . The food was lovely offered in a Buffett style. A pianist played at breakfast which was very relaxing. The decor in the lobby of the hotel is beautiful , the outside area is also very nice and steps lead down to well kept beach. This leads to both sides of the area which has a wooden board walk with bars located along. It’s an ideal setting you are right next to the beach excepting a bit of land that the sparrows call home. We went on a boat trip from Portimao and popped to Alvor. Uber taxis very good and only a few euros. We will return one day. Thank you to all of the lovely , happy staff

Very good experience to be portuguese and be able to feel oriental in Portugal, precisely Portimão with an amazing atmosphere, relaxing views, good food, location, garden and the architecture gives the feeling of being traveling abroad… front beach…

Simply one of the best hotels I've stayed in. Excellent service, excellent meals, lovely guest rooms and friendly staff throughout. One small thing, at morning tea/coffee time, a donut to accompany the beverage would be a nice touch.

Directly at the beach and many shops in 5/10 walking distance. Friendly staff and the rooms were always cleaned very neat!🫶🏻 would come here over and over again! Really love it

An absolute gem …. We loved every minute of our stay . Hotel is adults only, one of the reasons we choose it and it didn’t disappoint. Room was large with wrap around balcony and sea view., spotless and cleaned every day. Breakfast was good , our only complaint is the small plates ( desert plates) difficult to put a breakfast on one and the cutlery was also small. . Staff were attentive, friendly and welcoming. We would definitely go back .

We stayed for a wondereful long weekend in March. Service was exceptional, from the consistently friendly service at reception to the staff in the restaurant. The location could not be better, and the room huge, with views direct to then beach from our own terrace. The hotel manager even gave us a bottle of wine as an unexpected gift as it was our anniversary. Thank you all so much for making our stay so enjoyable.

This hotel is for adults only. We went there in late winter early spring. The people behind the the reception desk were very welcoming and nice. The check in was straightforward. We were told to choose the time for breakfast (we could change it anytime before bed time). The decorations are nice not sure what they reflect (mixed middle eastern style to north african). The hotel was clean and so tidy that looks magical. The room was big, and it has balcony. There was no ironing facility in the room. The breakfast was buffet menu and there was live music, a man playing on piano added once in a life magical experience.

This hotel hides a secret - unbelievable service and amazing views. It feels like a boutique experience. I suggest going in the winter to avoid crowds and upgrading to sea views. You can hear the waves from your room and there’s nothing more magical than that! I’ve never been able to have this view for the price! My only critique would be the wish for more luxury beds because I never wanted to leave the room.

Wonderful calm holidays at very busy beach. Even though the holiday is located right at one of the biggest and busiest beach at the Algarve, we spend very relaxing and calm holidays at the Oriental. Overall the hotel had a very relaxing and calm vibe, thanks to its staff and also guests.
The food at the restaurant was really good and the different themes at each dinner lead to a good variation. The breakfast lacked a bit of variation, especially if you spend a longer time at the hotel, but the food quality was overall good.
The service was most of the time on point. Everybody was always nice and dedicated to her/his job. The room was always poperly cleaned, also the whole hotel complex was really clean as well. We felt always welcomed.
The room was very spacious with a large balcony and a wonderful view of the beach and the sea. The beds were comfortable and the rest of furniture tasteful. A picture on the wall here and there would make the room even nicer. The biggest complaint of the room and also other rooms, as we heard, was the door closing mechanism. The door closed automatic with a lot force. In the morning or at night you could be awaked by the closing of a neighboring door. Otherwise the room could get some attentions here and there, but nothing major.

The hotel is of a good standard very clean, the staff are constantly on the go cleaning all area's after use.
Very friendly and polite, good standard of food although the cooked breakfast food could be a bit warmer.
Rooms are of a very good standard very clean and comfortable, we have a front facing superior room the view is spectacular.
Well done to all the staff for their hard work and friendly manner.
We will certainly return to this great hotel.

A very good hotel. Servicminded staff that realy helped us. Rush out in the street to meet us and helped with parking. Big, clean and nice rooms. Excellent dinner buffet and same about the breakfast. Here I want to go again. 👍👍

Very nice hotel. Great and friendly staff fluent in English and German. Great buffet both breakfast and dinner with changing themes and live music. The hotel is a bit apart from the other hotels and has a direct exese to the beach only the a little overemphasised touristic character is a bit much for my taste otherwise a excellent place for a holiday.

This is a wonderful and great place to stay during your Algarve holidays! Nice setting, very friendly staff, and a wonderful hotel. Nothing in my mind to say that something could be better. So welcoming, so clean, almost perfect! We stayed here end of March, before the rush to the beaches begins. I'm curious to know if also during peak season the services are as good as it was now. I know the answer already.... yes it will. So glad to have stayed here. Hope to come back one day.

Incredible hotel. The staff was very attentive during the check-in/check-out process and made our decision to extend our stay for another night a very simple process. The rooms were clean, grounds are immaculately maintained, and the whole atmosphere is very serene. The breakfast was fresh and enjoying the morning coffee in the sun with a view of the beach was a highlight of the stay. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Our room with two terraces was very very nice, spacious and nice views.

Breakfast good, but better organization would be helpful.
