Restaurante Hexagone by Gilberto Gato

I've been coming to Portugal for a few years now and have never tried this restaurant. I honestly wish I had come sooner. The stater was lovely the crued ham and artichoke. But best off all were the lamp chops, the best I've had in Portugal ever. The service was excellent as well, I will definitely come back to the hexagon. It's up there in one of my favourite restaurants.

The restaurant has a fairly intimate and beautiful setting. The staff and service is phenomenal. Knowledgeable about the menu, very friendly, offered advice on the wine selection.
The food is also truly delicious. It was an otherworldly experience. The fillet mignon was cooked to perfection, it was succulent and juicy. The sides were gorgeous.
It was a divine experience and very worth it.

Made reservations last minute. Amazing food at great prices. I had the surf and turf steak and which I requested rare, love the meat. Had the sardines/mackerel which tasted amazing. Amazing local wines. Service was top notched. 10/10 recommend.

Everything about the Hexagon restaurant is fantastic. From a very welcoming arrival to fantastic food and excellent atmosphere. Very child friendly and the children were treated equally as well as the adults. Returned twice over 7 days of our holiday and will be back on our future visits to Carvoeiro.

Hexagone deserves every 5 star review it gets. Location is a bit in the middle of nowhere, in between beaches and towns. However as soon as you walk in you feel that you are in the hands of professionals. No student waiters here. All experienced knowledgeable staff. I had a rib eye steak that was as good as anything in London or NY or Chicago. Great desserts. Will be back again

We ate here a couple of nights ago on our last night in Portugal, so glad we did, the experience was amazing! We were a largish group, (7 of us), we booked a few days in advance and we were given a lovely large table right in the middle of their outdoor seating area with a great view of the sunset! The food and wine was out of this world, was the 1st time 2 of the kids had ever had a steak cooked in a proper steakhouse and they were blown away by the quality of the food, we all were, can't rate the chefs cooking skills enough stars. The atmosphere /banter /interaction between the staff and the kids was top notch aswell, especially considering how nice the place is, the staff really were amazing, funny, courteous, always there to top your wine up for you etc, they really made it an outstanding evening for us. 100% will be returning on our next trip. Thank you all for making the very end of our holiday so special

Exceptionally good restaurant! The best meals we had in the Algarve by far! It is not cheap, but you are paying the quality of the food. Also, it has amazing service, everyone is very professional and attentive. Would definitely like to come back. Highly recommend!!!

Exceptional good, we had the prawns and octopus. Would 100% recommend, the service is Michelin star, food and drinks are very fairly priced considering the quality

Absolutely outstanding meal, the service was excellent, the food left you wanting more..The big hit of the night was the blueberry icecream I have never tasted anything like it...Thr food, wine and atmosphere was the best of the best...

What a wonderful experience! Everything melted in your mouth and both service and surroundings made you feel like a royalty. The lambchops were the best I have ever had. Definitely on my list of best restaurants in Algarve.

Wanted to go ever since the chef Gilberto Gato moved from Alvor to Sesmarias/Carvoeiro. Food was very nice, friendly staff and great wines by the glass.

Excellent food and service with great value for money

Absolutely fantastic! It’s a must Visit!! Gilberto is excellent and will help guide you through the menu and offer recommendations! They were also really good and accommodating with our 6 month old boy! If I could rate this place 100 stars I would!

From the road it does not look much. But awesome inside .. steak cooked to near perfection and quality unbelievable...

Wonderful atmosphere, fantastic food. You know you are in for a treat the second you are seated. All the staff are first class, but Juon deserves a special mention. We were lucky enough to share the evening with regular diners who live close by and by extension we felt like part of the 'family' straight away. Absolutely sublime Mignon and Sirloin steaks. We will be back for more!

We'll worth visiting if you are staying on the area, expensive but very much worth it, some incredible dishes.
