Excellent food, I ordered the bread with cheese and tomatoes and the “hidden burger”.

Burger was good but I did not expect it come out covered in cheese and sauce. It’s called Francesinha with a different style sandwich elsewhere I think.

This place was just what I needed after walking 15 miles in the rain today. The food tasted great. The portions were large. That hot chicken soup hit the spot and warmed 😋 me right up. If I had to make a critique. I would only say that I wish the beef steak was a little bit more tender. And that cafe con leche and pastry was so delicious. I was just passing by but if I ever come back again, I would eat here. The price was a good deal.

The best place in Fão to eat all day, except Tuesday. Shrimps are fantastic, meat, wine. Everything ❤ Portions are huge 😊 Masa a Chale is my favorite (on the photo)

Unbelievable. We enjoyed the Pilgrims set meal for 8 euros. It was delicious. The tapas looked good too. House red wine was spot on. Great service. Highly recommended. Many thanks.

The staff were really friendly, they spoke English. We ordered some tapas. Everything was super tasty, the portions were quite big. I can only recommend the mussels with onion, yummy! They also have menu for pilgrims.

I enjoyed a very nice dinner while doing El Camino. They have a pilgrim's menu, which is a great value at 10 euros, including soup, main dish, bread, dessert, drink and coffee.
The atmosphere was the best I have seen in a while. Lots of friendly locals enjoying a nice night out.

Was dying to try the deserts but OMG the tapas was so fantastic and the service was great and meters from where we were staying a real find

IMPORTANT: my five stars are value based. If you are looking for food on a very high level that is close to art or an elite service than you should probably go somewhere else. And if my englisch is bad than that is because i am german :D
Review: the service was friendly and good also you need to be a little creative if you are not speeking portugues (but the basics were in english).
We waited for our food less then 10 minutes but we the bar was not very full.
The prices are insanly cheap from a german point of view ( 3€ for a burger).
The portions are huge (in our german mentality we thought that the portions must be small when the prices are so low an completly over commited - the xxl Burger is enough for 2-3 people :D ).
The food was very delicios, the burgers are good (way better than mc donalds but maybe not the best burger you will ever eat - still a good one to remember). The some tapas are basic but good and some were exelent(e.g. The tapas plate/mix).
The ambiente was something between Restaurant and sportsbar but enjoyable anyway.
All in all it is a very good place to go if you are looking for delicios basic food for a very low price.
But remember: one dish is enough :D

This is top class Portuguese cooking! We had made to order tortilla and the red wine rib stew. The red wine rib stew was delicous and the serving was very generous but we were greedy and had a second serving! The house red wine (do Porto) was a great compliment. Great value, do not pass! 👌

This place was utterly delicious. I stopped in for some lunch, and had the pilgrim's menu for eight euro: a drink, meal, and coffee or dessert. I opted for the vegan pasta, and oh my goodness, it was DELICIOUS!!! Highly recommended!

Particular shout-out to the friendly and helpful staff - they gave me some ice for my knee and were happy to charge my phone as I stopped over. They spoke English.

Wow though, that pasta was terrific. I didn't even miss the cheese.
