Douro Royal Valley Hotel & Spa

I had the change to stay for 1 night to celebrate my birthday! I had the best time since I came back to Portugal. The staff made the experience even more special. Starting from the receptionist at check in, to the receptionist at the spa, to the pool team, the level of detail was 5 starts. I would definitely come back and recommend the hotel to all friends & family. A big thanks to the all the team and congratulations to the management team also.

My recent stay at Douro Royal Valley left me genuinely impressed. The suite was amazing: spacious living area, a bed that you sink into, and a private garden with a stunning river view—impeccable for unwinding. The bathroom was expansive, and waking up to the panoramic view of the Douro River was a daily delight. It's not about extravagance; it's about practical comfort in the lap of nature. Highly recommended for a high-standard retreat.

As everyone else has stated this isn't a perfect 5 star hotels. There are little imperfections in the rooms and around the hotel. Although the views at the pool and in our room were absolutely stunning. We also got the Douro Royal Experience which includes a dinner, a boat ride and a wine tour. The wine tour was one of the best I've ever been on as it was with a 8th generation wine maker at the original home. Very cool experience and would recommend to anyone. The free breakfast was a very good and tasty spread. The dinner was good not great. Overall I would say it was a great experience.

We are easy guests. We loved our room. We liked the cleanliness. Loved the view and the infinity pool. Our room has breakfast included. The breakfast was good. We also tried to go to the same restaurant for dinner and it was also a good experience. Loved the food presentation. Their bar was cozy, where you can also play pool. It is indeed a 5-star hotel. Very calming place. The hotel is not crowded as well. Staff were friendly. Service is fast. Loved the overall experience. I strongly recommend this hotel if you’re going to visit Douro.

The place is perfect! The rooms are big, comfortable and with amazing view over the river. Really quiet and calm area. The infinity pool is TOP! The spa is also very good, we only tried one of their treatments but it was sooo relaxing... :) you feel special. The bar and the restaurant are also very good - specially the staff was very friendly and always trying to offer their best, and the food was very well done, presented, tasted... Congrats to the chef!
We were there with a baby and they prepared a crib for her. We also swam with her in the warm inside pool, and even the infinity pool has some kid's friendly area. They also have a kid's room with games, small tables and sofas for kids to play :)

Outstanding hotel with amazing pool, and service. It is in the middle of the hills with an outstanding view on the river (literally every place in the hotel has the view: pool, rooms, restaurant) I spent my 30th birthday and everything was very nice. The food in the restaurant is excellent! I highly suggest to have dinner there too.

We were meant to stay at the Douro palace hotel but were moved here last minute. It didn't dissappoint at all. The views from the hotel are stunning. The food is great. The spa and pools are very clean and hygienic. The staff are all very polite and helpful.

A 5 star hotel! The rooms are great, the food is great and the view is heavenly. At night you have the bar which had a live piano act which was great.

It’s situated on a very pretty part of the Douro, a little bit on the middle of nowhere.

Unfortunately didn’t took a pic of the infinity pool since the weather was not the best when I went there but in the summer it’s probably the place to be.

It’s not cheap but it’s worth the price. A place on my list to return hoping to have a bit more luck on the weather.

Had a stay at Douro Royal Valley and it turned out to be great. The suite was spacious with a super comfy bed, and the private garden offered a sweet river view. Waking up to the Douro River view was a highlight. The Palato D’Ouro restaurant served up solid Douro flavors, and the Ruby Bar had a laid-back vibe. Practical indulgence in the Douro's splendor. Fantastic experience.

Spent some days of my honeymoon there and it was amazing! Difficult drive to get to the place but it really worths it! The views, the panoramic pool, the spa and the restaurant.

The view from the pool is indeed the highlight of this property. Additionally the spa experience is also excellent. The room is a bit old (design-wise) but it is clean enough.

The experience in this Hotel couldn’t be better. The staff is really nice, the food is awesome and the hotel is very well situated.
We love to spend time in hotels along Rio Douro, and this one is our favourite.

On the shores of the Douro River, this refined hotel is 2 km from Pala train station, and 10 km from both the historical stone gateway of Quinta da Fervença, and panoramic river views at the Miradouro de Teixeirô viewpoint.

Straightforward rooms have furnished balconies with river views. All are are equipped with minibars, free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs. Suites add terraces and separate living areas.
