I’m only giving 1 star, because I can’t give 0.
If you are a foreigner, and you need a document to prove your residence here, do not come to this place - go to the Câmara Municipal instead. In this Junta, there are only rude and ignorant people working.

They refused to accept our lease contract because it was in English, saying that we have to adapt to the country. How can we read and sign a contract that we can’t read? And the Decreto-Lei n.º 160/2006, de 8 de agosto says that the lease contract has to be written, but does not say it has to be in English, so our contract is as valid and correct as any other (checked by our lawyer).
Do not lose your time and patience with this place/people. They hate foreigners and they will not welcome you.
