International Garden Festival

A wonderful project, set in well established and peaceful garden on the banks of the Limia River.
The garden competition for both schools and professionals is superb and we loved that you get to vote for our favourites.
Entry is just 1 euro and for that you get a very nice experience.

Free parking, 1€ to enter. Beautiful green space. If you're in the area there is zero reason to not go. Loved it and will be taking my mum and the kids back next week if the weather allows.

Really liked the Festival, is the second time going there. The creativity of the participants is definitely something which stands out. I like the peace and quiet of the garden when there is not a lot of people visiting.

A delightful hour seeing some lovely ideas about discovery in gardens. We especially enjoyed the childrens' exhibits. Well worth 1 EUR entrance fee!

Amazing place, so many different plants and gardens to see! Shame it shuts for an hour for lunch would be perfect to eat a picnic there!

Nice bar on way from cathedral to the bus, very helpfull staff who spoke English a bit.

This is a collection of small gardening arrangements, combining horticulture with art. Very pleasant walk for 1 euro, on the river Bank as well.

Lovely selection of gardens with thought provoking descriptions and some swings and sculptures at the bottom for the children.

Really nice park and gardening exhibition that was a pleasant surprise during our visit to Ponte de Lima. It is a green oasis full of wine, fruits, flowers and greenery, just a very well-kept, tranquil and peaceful place. There is also a competition about the design of small plots with international contributions, along with short explanations about the creators and the ideas behind the garden. Visitors can cast their vote which plot they liked best. The whole place is not that big (if you are from Germany, do not expect something like "Landesgartenschau", this is much smaller) but charming and we enjoyed our visit a lot.

Amazing place to visit, even (or especially) with kids. It had really interesting installations and projects and over is perfect place for a walk :-)

Magical place. Only 1€. It's worth the prize.

This interesting garden with a message was created on an old quinta just across the old Roman bridge. Every year contestants are invited to use a space to create their interpretation of a theme. The visiting public casts their votes and the winner is invited to remain for the next year. One can also meander through the rest of the grounds, and there is an Olympic size pool with an ice cream bar. It's a lovely place for all ages any day.

Really impressive garden festival and only 1 Euro entry. 10 or so small garden designs, mostly with an environmental theme. Vote for your favourite and they are retained for next year.

Nice people, place, great work of garden art opening, the river nearby, the shining swimming pool. Don't loose these surroundings
