Ponte Romano-Gótica de Ponte de Lima

The historical stone bridge can be dated back to Roman empire which indicate the importance of this location. The bridge was further renovated in medieval period.
A megnificent landmark to visit and walk around the old town is recommended.

Very scenic area of Ponte de Lima, plenty of cafes and restaurants to choose from. Ample parking for caravans.

The bridge and the scenery is definitely worth a visit. We got there just in time for the sunset and walked around the river- highly recommend.

I visited during the Feiras Novas 2023. Hence it was crowded. But it is a wonderful spot for some lovely scenery photography and portrait photography especially during the Dusk.

Ponte de Lima in Portugal... sweet village on the edge of the Lima River. Ancient Roman Bridge used to be the only link over to get to Santiago. Gorgeous waterfront where all of life, commerce, shopping and eating are lived. We fell in love with the food, culture and people.

really cool old roman bridge in the oldest town in portugal. lots of cool old stories about the bridge and river. it’s really beautiful and there’s a chapel on one end with a very cool rock sculpture out front. a stop on the camino de santiago.

It was a magical place. I live in the center of a stressful city, and having the opportunity to visit this small village, listening to the birds, the river flow... Was heartwarming

Honestly stunning, especially thinking for how long this bridge has stood there! Some parts of the bridge date back to the Roman empire 2000 years ago! River around it was stunning, reflected the sky in such a mind blowing way

Any photo of Ponte de Lima’s most scenic ‘vista’ - it’s riverfront- is dominated by its iconic Roman-built stone bridge. Beautiful in any light, its rugged walls will go from gleaming under the sun to austere when it’s rainy.
Like with many other famous landmarks, you’ll likely want a photo with it in the background, but don’t let that take you away from the exquisite view from the bridgeway, where the town, the surrounding lush green mountains, and the river will offer you different, unique sceneries.
Walking across the bridge will bring you from the more urban, touristic side with storefronts, restaurants and hubbub to the quietest, mostly residential side.
To top that, the quintessential Minho delicacies make the town a very worthwhile visit in any time of the year.
