Restaurante a Carpintaria

The clams and giant langoustines were a nice opener followed by very juicy and well seasoned lamb chops and cod tempura with a purée of fennel. the slightly sparkling wine matched the whole and the chocolate mousse and cake of carrot, almonds and figs accompanied by a nice coffee together provided a nice ending. yes, here it is indeed a bit more expensive at €60 p/p, but the quality is a few classes higher. I will gladly come back again. thank you for the super friendly service, the short but pleasant chat with the chef and the nice afternoon I got to spend here. see you next time.

This place is insanely good. I’ve now been several times. The piri piri prawns are delicious. The slow cooked pork so tasty and amazing value. Some really nice wines. It’s just a delight and the open fire makes it very cosy in winter. I love it here.

The only thing they need to do is have filtered water available! And maybe turn off the TV in the evening. It doesn’t really go with the lovely ambience.

A Carpentaria came highly recommended by our hosts at Tavira Monte Country House and they didn't disappoint. I gave five stars not only for the quality of the food but also the quality of the staff. Nothing was too much trouble for our table of four who showed up late after flight delays.

Fabulous little restaurant exceptional staff, and great food not cheap but we'll worth a visit, my wife had Tempura Cod on fennel mash and sauteed veg and I had the Lamb chops.

A small hidden gem in the lovely town of Tavira! The personnel is kind and attentive and the food was delicious 🤤 If you have time to grab a bit or enjoy a full course dinner, this is where you should stop!

Cataplana was excellent. My sons had steak and frango and frittes. All told decent food priced at the higher end for a village restaurant, that said I’ll be back

Found this restaurant from looking at the reviews online and it certainly lived up to the comments people had written. A stylish, comfortable interior with lots of room between tables. The evening we went had plenty of other people eating there, it was a relaxed atmosphere and the staff were very friendly. The food was the best local food we've had so far, very delicious and fresh. A nice touch was that the chef came to our table at the end of our meal and we were able to tell her how great the food had been. Highly recommend this restaurant for a touch of the Portuguese lifestyle 🇵🇹👍

ABSOLUTELY the best restaurant i have been to in almost 2 years. The prices are half of what i have paid before in any Tavira restaurant. The food is of the highest quality and the combinations are inspiring. Made with love.

A hidden gem! Outside of the beach craze and crowds. Service and food were extraordinary. Try the house desert with goat cheese.

Here to eat twice in as many days. Loved the chicken and prawns (super hot and tasty!). Lovely decor and place to sit with good drinks and a place I would come to more regularly if only I lived closer.

Lovely and clean and charming although in a house. The food was excellent - we had the local boar stew and it was delicious!! Delicious!! We also had a side of cubed potatoes which were perfection. The stew was great on a cold winter’s day. Two thumbs up!!

A special treat that is difficult to find

A nice place (especially for eating indoors) with attention and passion for food. Portions are a bit smaller than typical Portuguese but more refined and nicely presented.

Perfect dinner. Great taste and large quantities. The king prawns as appetiser abundant for two. Excellent Dourada and wine selection of whites all within 25€. Place is very quite and fresh outside.
