Octant Vila Monte

My husband and I stayed here for a few nights to celebrate our anniversary. We stayed in the master suite - Laranjil. The staff had prepared a lovely surprise for us on our arrival.

From the moment we drove into the resort we felt instantly relaxed. The beautiful gardens, the smell of the orange groves and the stunning views were breathtaking.

The service and staff were absolutely faultless. Everyone was so friendly and warm and the attention to detail was great.

The food was delicious and service in the restaurant was amazing.

We loved out stay and will be going back to Portugal just to stay at Vila Monte.

Souraia was very helpful with organising a trip for us and transfers - they took care of everything. I will definitely be going back with my
Family.

Lovely hotel in the mountain side with a great view. The breakfast is amazing. The food in the A Terra is absolute perfect. Also the cocktails were so well made. Best food we had on our trip through Portugal and such a great service team.

We had a great room, but one notices it's an older room, the pool was heated and very nice and the service overall from reception to anything you needed was just so nice.

We had the pleasure of staying at this sweet gem of a resort for three nights, and all wish it could have been longer. Upon arrival, we upgraded from our (very nice) family suite to the Villa Indigo as we have two adult children and wanted the extra space and privacy. And, wow...we were all so happy with our decision. The villa was impeccable, the gardens and pool, amazing. If possible, do yourself a favor and book the Villa. You will not be disappointed. The entire resort exudes a quiet elegance without arrogance or stuffiness, but the Villa is just special. We had dinner and lunch at the restaurant, and the food was amazing as were the cocktails. But the real standout was the staff, especially our butler, Sofia, and housekeeper, Evetta. They were both exceptional. The only downside was the inability to have a chef's table at the Villa as he was unavailable during our stay. I'm sure this would have been incredible, and would most definitely recommend doing this for future guests.

I spent a lot of time researching hotels in the Algarve when deciding where to stay with my wife on vacation. I am very glad that I picked this one. This hotel is excellent in every way; the service, location, facilities, dining. They do all the “little things” that separate a great hotel from a good hotel. I highly recommend.

Everything about our stay was incredible. Grounds are beautiful. Staff was friendly across the board. Restaurant is wonderful - we stayed there for dinner three straight nights because we loved any fish Chef Pedro was making (also recommend his homemade gin). Trip to beach was a blast. Other guests friendly. Type of experience you hope for.

One of the best hotel experiences!! We stayed at this property for one night but wish we could have stayed longer. If you’re looking for 5-star luxury service, I recommend staying at this property. From the service, the staff, the food, to our room and the property itself, everything surpassed our expectations. The hotel is located less than 1 hour from the Faro airport, it has an adult pool and has a separate kid friendly pool on property. We had all of our meals on property, everything was made with fresh ingredients from the garden (when possible). The staff was very professional and caring, a special shout-out to Helena for making sure we had a seamless and exceptional stay from the time we checked in until it was time to go. If you’re looking for a quiet, luxurious experience, I definitely recommend staying at Octant Vila Monte. Truly one of the best!!

Fantastic hotel and beautiful grounds with wonderful staff. We spent 5 days here and it's a great place to explore the eastern Algarve from. The onsite restaurant is very, very good and the whole place is complimented by friendly and attentive staff. Can't wait to go back.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Octant Vila Monte and would highly recommend it.

Several highlights that made our stay great:

-The location was just what we wanted. It is not near the touristy beach hotels, but tucked away up on a hill about 15 minutes North of Olhão. It’s a great place to get away if you are looking for a peaceful high-end experience. We came by car and traveled to the different towns in the Algarve for day beach trips/site seeing.

-The staff was incredibly kind and attentive to us.

-There is a pool for families with children and one strictly for adults. There is plenty of shade at the pool.

-The grounds are impeccable. There was obviously great though given by the landscape Architect. It made early morning meditation wonderful.

-the dining selections for lunch and dinner were incredible. A Nice variety of seafood, vegetables, and meat… Great wine, cocktails, etc…

-Great variety of breakfast options which comes with the room.

We would definitely come back the next time we are in the Algarve.

Octant exceeded my expectations! I am a big fan of another of their hotels and expected it will be very nice, but it was just amazing. The staff is lovely, the restaurant is excellent and the interior/exterior are very well done, it it obvious this place has a strong design team.

It also smells incredible :) We were playing on the grass and I noticed it smells like mint, they had mint growing around! What a great idea! The grass also looks like it has various species and not just one type lawn grass - this is good for biodiversity!

I cannot wait to go back.

This resort has so much more to offer than a typical hotel. Great restaurant, beautiful relaxing grounds, and a very peaceful feel. The service is impeccable. Restaurant staff go out of their way to make sure everything is just right, and the food is fantastic. Reception staff may be the best I've ever encountered. They personally escort you to your room upon check in and promptly deliver the luggage. They were extremely helpful with local tourism recommendations. They even helped me find alternative transportation options when I discovered that the CP trains were on strike. Thank you to Soraia who was so helpful. I would stay at the Vila Monte again in a heartbeat!

We stayed for three nights with our 10 month old son. We could not fault the hotel and the staff - they went over an above to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. A beautiful cot and even toiletries for our baby. Beautiful, clean and spacious rooms, the food is fantastic, all local and fresh (though dinner menu not cheap). Lots of little added extras which make the whole experience a delight.

Only down side is the location is not really walking distance from anywhere but the grounds, pools etc are beautiful to spend time in.

Octant vila is amazing! I think it’s one of the most lovely, beautiful, well decorated and calm places I’ve ever been to! The staff is super friendly and welcoming, the restaurant and breakfast are amazing as well :) the parks, the pools, and the bedroom all were great. A special mention to the house keeping team 🤍 thank you very much for everything!

Vila Monte is one of our all-time favourite places in the Algarve. It's just perfect. From the pure island-inspired white mood in the suites, to the magical adults pool under magnificent trees to the outdoor cinema and romantic garden restaurant. The breakfast is amazing (we always order room-service for lazy long breakfasts on our terrace)and the staff is just wonderful. Special Thanks to Pedro and Sofia, who turned our last stay into an unforgettable memory, with a day of surprises for my husband's birthday. Especially the picnic in the 'middle of nowhere' countryside - making us feel like starting in "Out of Africa" - was a dream. Muito Obrigada Vila Monte. We will be back soon.

Wonderful property, still maintaining (since 2016) all the qualities (rooms, nature setting, high quality service and good breakfast). Could have less expensive dine-in option. Highly recommended.

What a great resort/hotel. It’s an oasis of lush gardens and relaxation. And close to the coast. This was our first visit to an Octant hotel and won’t be our last.

We stayed in one of the secret suites. They are huge. A nice patio with couch, table and chairs, and a plunge pool. Inside there is a living room with full bathroom, a solarium/perfect area for reading or napping, and the bedroom with attached full bathroom. TV’s in the bedroom and living room. Rooms are all quite spacious. And I love the white washed with the colorful tiles.

Thank you for the full sized, great smelling toiletries. There are robes and slippers (land fun hats) in the room. Good sized and plentiful closets for storage.

The gym is large with some free weights, weight machine, ellipticals, and I think a treadmill or two.

There are two pools, one for families and one adults only. Lots of lounge chairs and umbrellas to lay in the sun or shade. Water is chilly in the adults pool but refreshing after a hot day.

Breakfast is in a pretty buidling with many tables inside and out (with a nice view). Breakfast was good, the eggs to order were great. We had one dinner at the restaurant, it was good.

The store in the lobby has a lot of local products and cute things you didn’t know you needed. Good place to get treats to bring home.

We did the excursion to the almost empty island. Short van ride to the dock and super short boat ride to a small island. They provide chairs, umbrella, towels, and water. Great beach with soft sand and tons of shells. They packed a cooler for us with wine and beer to enjoy.

I got to do the body scrub class with Bruno. He is amazing!! He’s full of great info and stories. The Octant is lucky to have him there. We learned about body scrubs and local herbs then got to make our own. Fun.

Service was great. The personal concierge was so helpful (and so easy to communicate with on what’s app). I love that there are two resident cats. 🐈 They are both so sweet

The hotel is a short drive to town for grocery stores and restaurants. The Benagil caves and seven valleys hike are about 45 min away.

Overall a wonderful place to stay in the Algarve!

This was our second time at this absolute slice of heaven and it was every bit as blissful and idyllic as I had remembered it. Villa Monte is in the eastern algarve, around 25 minutes drive from Faro airport, and just a kilometer or so inland from the region’s stunning beaches. The property itself is just magical. Beautifully manicured and landscaped, stunning pools (including a separate one for adults), outdoor dining under the stars, fire pits, a tennis court and even a terrific gym. The food on site is excellent, with tables set under trees in the garden and a stunning breakfast terrace overlooking the mountains and the sea. Our suite was just stunning, and abundant with so many thoughtful touches that distinguish good hotels from excellent ones! But the absolute best part of the experience is the wonderful staff who work at the hotel, all kind, warm and friendly. I can’t say enough about this hotel. You just have to experience it for yourself!

This is a beautiful boutique hotel. The rooms are wonderful and such thought has been put into them, including the lovely touch of delicious biscuits to have with tea or coffee. The outside areas are tasteful done and again the kind gesture of iced water and fruit kebabs is 5/5. The food is delicious and a fantastic choice. The best feature of this hotel is the staff. Everyone was welcoming, helpful, kind and thoughtful. We will be definitely returning. Thank you.

We visited the Restaurant which is available to non-residents as well. It was absolutely fabulous . The highlight besides the great food is the location and the outside dining area. What a wonderful property and garden design. 140 Euro with three courses, drinks and coffee incl. tip for two persons very reasonable for this level of dining.
