Nice medieval castle with a 360 view from the top point of the city. In the center of the castle is located a beautiful garden. You can also walk through the castle's walls, but be very careful.
On towers are located monocles to watch the town.

Nice castle and surrounding family-cenrtic area. The castle is well kept and within it's walls is a park-like area with well landscaped walkways, walls, and towers to access. Below are more sites to see along with a few cafes and a great walkway and park along the water. You can park just off the roundabout to enter the park and walk to the castle for the overall approach views or drive right near the top for ADA access. 👍

Beautiful garden.

Stopped in this town during an afternoon of driving to see this castle--was not disappointed! Despite it being a public holiday and no staff, the gate was still open and we went inside. A few rooms were not open due to no staff but we had the whole place to ourselves to wander around the outside part. Spent approx 45 mins here. Lovely garden.

Castle looks better for the outside, mostly just a large walled castle with the inner just a large garden with trees and flowers

Great castle and free entry

A beautiful castle hidden away in a beautiful little town. I was visiting grandma and it was a nice little surprise.

A historical place, with nice garden and panoramic view of the village.

Nice town to stop in and visit this old fort. On the hill.

Don't forget to walk around the outside of the walls around the fort - no rails and fairly high up there in some areas.

The castle is well maintained and surrounded by gardens where you can have a pleasent walk with different views over the city

Omg...so many things to see and apreciate about Portuguese culture , arquitecture...and we not alone ...thousands of tourists everywhere....

Great historic location

I went there with my husband a week ago for the medieval event and it was beautiful and so much fun. I would love to visit even without the event because there's a lot more to explore. 😊
