Five stars everything: the service, the food, the staff!
The food was amazing, super tasty with a perfect combination of flavours.
Staff was attentive, on top of our needs without making us feel like they were rushing us (in fact the opposite!)

Hands down the best meal we had in Portugal, and one of the best meals of my life. The owner was very engaged in making sure we were enjoying ourselves and our food, even with a full restaurant and we came without a reservation. We were greeted with complimentary bubbly, fresh bread and savory pastries and ordered the octopus salad to start. Then we got the seafood platter and a bottle of champagne (it was our last night so we were living it up). We were served a complimentary glass of port to round off our meal, and my boyfriend got the crème brûlée for dessert. The total was about 90€, but considering all we got it was worth it. We couldn’t finish everything, even though we tried! The seafood platter (we shared the small, 35€) came with potatoes that were sliced and perfectly cooked in the best sauce I’ve ever had. Have plans to return to Portugal next year and this place is already on my list. I would literally plan a stop in this town just to come back to this restaurant, but the town itself is also adorable and worth a visit.

One of the best meals I've ever experienced. Great service throughout, excellent menu and the food was simply fantastic. My wife had the posta, I had the sea bass. The desserts were sublime. We will be returning!!

Traditional kitchen with a few surprising mix of modern cuisine. Definitely worth a try.
We tried out the seafood mix plate. It was tasty, nicely prepared and the dips were well chosen.
They have a large selection of wines at more than reasonable prices.
The staff was very friendly and courteous.
The restaurant is quite busy, if you want to visit it at dinner hours, make a reservation up-front.

Delicious food with excellent service. The fresh crab and turbot dishes we had were perfect. The manager also kindly called a taxi for us.

An update on Bota d'Agua. I had New Years Eve dinner here. The attention to detail, quality of food and exceptional service,,,especially as every seat was filled, was exceptional.

We had dinner at Bota d’Agua on Friday evening and it was exceptional. From the minute we walked in to the time we left it was a joy. The tables were immaculately set with quality serviettes, cutlery and glassware. The food was beautifully cooked and served with care and attention, chilled white wine served in an ice bucket, rare these days, and if you like fish, wow! this is the place to visit…..They have a fresh lobster and shellfish tank.
Being in the hospitality business ourselves we know and appreciate how hard it is day after day to keep standards and enthusiasm to such a high level.
Thank you to all the team at Bota d’Agua for a lovely evening.

Very good and welcoming service, food was good (for those who like Portuguese kind, it's oily and extremely nutritious). Good choice of wine.

My wife's feet were ruined from the Camino today, so I came here to get her some takeaway. Ordered the picanha for two, and they gave us a massive feast, and threw in a couple slices of cheesecake for free.

When I asked for utensils, they didn't have any plastic ones so they just gave me their normal cutlery for takeaway.

Awesome service and delicious food.

Excellent lunch (arroz tamboril and beef picanha), well prepared in a pleasant ambiance. Good quality and nice choice of wines. And a good list of deserts from which we choose classics like pudim and mousse de chocolat.

This restaurant was a very nice surprise!
I had lunch here recently with my wife and a friend and everything was just fantastic.
The location is great - by the city park, near the river -, the space is very well decorated and the food and service's quality are all great.
Besides the standard offering ("à la carte"), there are daily suggested dishes less expensive and served more quickly, which are a nice option.
In the photo, you can see grilled "picanha" (filet steak) served with rice, french fries and black beans.
A "must visit again" spot!
Thanks.
