Casa do Alentejo

Second time here after 3 pm. First, the boredom on the staff faces, then they serve a divine meal, with the best they have to give. A great Portuguese stew! Later, the broth with bread. Divine! want to come back at decent hours to enjoy 100%.

Really good pork dishes, and was happy to realise that they speaked good English here. Pricing is in line for the quality.

always have great seafood and local cuisine with very reasonable price. The chef, the interior design, the service,etc, all nice. Remember that the huge crab which you must try is only available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Wow! Such a gem. They served us even if they barely had any food left (arrived closer to the closing time) . Best pork cheeks I ever had. Tender, and super delicious. Will definitely come back to this great spot on the way to Algarve.

Delicious local cuisine. We had the lamb and the asparagus miga with black pork and both were outstanding. Our kids were quite happy with the burger and chicken.

Very good authentic alentejano meals, very well executed and tasty. We are used to the typical meals of the area such as "carne alentejana" and it was outstanding.

Cherry on the cake the sangria was very good and refreshing, and homemade desserts were yummy (lactose free chocolate mousse, couldn't ask more :))

Seems to be popular with locals, it was full with Portuguese people. Staff was very friendly and helpful, food very tasty and portions big. Prices are average as far as I can tell, about 10€ for a main dish. Highly recommended!

Amazing, delicious food and incredible service. The staff were very nice and patient; they even took the time to translate the menu for us! We had the black pork with migas and chicken in mustard sauce - both were excellent. This was a dining experience we will not forget and we highly recommend!!

This is an unexpected barbecue paradise. We were looking for a quick lunch stop on our way south. We stopped at this town and were drawn to the restaurant by the wonderful aroma. The pork strips (called lizards) were amazing. All the meat was barbecued to perfection. We had three dishes between four of us and were very happy. We took the waiter, Andre’s advice and had shared a delicious desert. A kind of cake with a candied plum on top. Wonderful! The children loved it as well. Looking forward to our visit on the way back.

A wonderful place on the edge of sleepy Castro Verde. Authentic local cuisine (their carne de porco a alentejano is a must!), reasonable prices, good sized portions, excellent friendly service and you can even have your pudding to take away!

Amazing food. Authentic Alentejano food, exactly as I remember from my childhood. Heaven...

We stopped by on the way to the coast. The meat was amazing. Simple but great! The service was also perfect the English and the recommendations were on point. We will come back for sure.

Recommended - Delicious local dishes and excellent, informal service (esp. by André, a friendly multi-lingual helpful guy). Worth the detour or a must when following the N2-route.

The food is great. It is typical Comida Alentejana. The pork is amazing and as expected for pork from this region. The prices are very reasonable and wine is regional at a great price. Visit Casa do Alentejo, you will love it!

Great place to stay, the outdoor place looks cute and the waiters are amazing bringing a good mood to the table with little jokes. I ate the tomato rice with fried little fish which was stated as small plate but turned out to be enough for two people. Everything tasted really fresh and made with love. My boyfriend had the porco preto preca and just a look at him could tell it was awesome too. We shared great caramel cream for dessert. So if you are on your way to Algarve like we were - plan a stop at Casa do Alentejo!
