I loved the place! It’s one of the best museums I’ve ever visited!! Very interactive and it’s easy to learn a lot about Roman Empire through a lot of interactive installations

Great museum, friendly staff and well made exhibition. Highly recommend. I learned new things and liked how they show what the modern world has inherited from a people from 2000 years ago. I also liked the exhibits you can touch and try out.

Innovative and informative museum about Roman influences in the area

This museum is a little gem! It is tucked away in a quite suburb of Coimbra, Condexia-A-Nova. The museum details the Roman occupation of this area, and influence in our modern life. It is an award winning history museum with lots of cool interactive high tech exhibits. Current cost is 5 euros or 3.50 for seniors and students. 1st Sunday of every month before 14:00 is free. Your visit will take 1 to 2 hours, and most exhibits are in Portuguese and English. It is situated next to a lovely park with an outdoor café. There is ample free parking. It is definitely worth a visit and can be combined with a visit to the Conimbriga ruin site.

Great place to learn about Roman civilization. Very well designed museum with some memorable moments and ideas like the peep-show and the interactive maquette or the soldier helmet.

We had a truly lovely lunch at the cafe - the food and wine was wonderful and the staff very friendly. The museum was enjoyable and we had a great time. 😊

A good place to relax. Coffees are great, and there are plentiful small things to eat as well. Frequented by locals at the end of the day.
