Gorgeous Torre Menagem in the heart of a small mediaeval border town. You have to pay a little to climb to the top, but the view is spectacular. There’s also an audiovisual presentation at the base of the tower, but it wasn’t working the day I went.

AMAZING film show in museum - which is in castle keep! We nearly missed it as no dign to show it is there! Small admisdion fee and entry upsteep steps - but totally worth it. The history of the region in spectacular graphics!!

A lovely place which we found on the road. Our visit was during their Feudal party and the town was decorated really well. A great place to visit during your trip throught Portugal. You can always discover good places in this area.

Very nice indeed. Very clean and very well preserved. Inside the walls you can find a relic: O Museu do Cinema de Melgaço (Melgaço Museum of Cinema). The permanent exhibition is about the Cinema evolution where you will find pre Lumière brothers Cinema Artifacts. Almost all of them was offered by fim critic Jean-Loup Passek. A must see exhibition, really.
