Amazing fish and seafood! Oysters were divine! Just be aware this place may be really busy and it takes time to serve everyone, but it wasn’t problem for us and it was worth waiting.

This was one of the best fish I ever had. The restaurant is packed and incredibly busy, with dozens of staff flying around. The fish is fresh, some of it is displayed in a vitrine, and with the grill at the entrance. There is so much to choose from, and it all looks great! I had a bit of a celebration, so I chose turbot... it was perfect! I will be back here... since I now live close-by, and I highly recommend this restaurant to any fish lover. Don't expect some haute-cuisine or artistic presentation... just really good dishes...

Very good fresh fish and sea food

Returned for a lunch with friends and very pleased with the make-over since our last visit. The food was just as delicious as before and service second to none. Already looking forward to another meal there very soon. Highly recommended.

Absolutely one of our best meals in the Algarve! Super fresh oysters followed by grilled shrimp and squid on a skewer with fries and a salad. All accompanied by an excellent (and inexpensive) house white. Friendly, English speaking server who always has a smile for us. Coming from NYC, we actually didn’t mind sitting outside along the street watching the world go by. The air and temperature were perfect and, this being Portugal, we weren’t rushed at all. Certainly Boa Vida!

Where to start…..The view from the outdoor terrace is beautiful. The amount of choices for seafood and fish is huge and everything is fresh (you can see so in the display case). We had the swordfish and shrimp skewers and they were very generous portions! When you sit down they bring out fresh queso fresco, bread and olives which were local. The view + high quality and freshness of food = a wonderful experience, perfect for visitors that want to find a solidly good local place.

The best seafood restaurant I have been to in a while. Unusual dishes and not for the faint hearted. You will have a culinary adventure as to what really is some of the best seafood. The staff is great. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

The real fisherman's shack , Fialhos is an authentic family restaurant with a soul. Do t expect fancy fare and designers decor here. Everything is as simple and as fresh as it comes. Fish, prawns, oysters, and all sorts of products from the sea are on display in a large refrigerated window. You choose, they flame grill, salad, chips, rustic bread, tasty olive oil...... cold white wine from.the region.... and the view to the sea.
If you only have time for one meal in Tavira, this is the place not to miss.
Since our last visit, the dining room has been entirely refurbished, and clad with wall to wall windows offering a spectacular view to the Ria Formosa! Just what was missing!

Amazing fish. Large portions. Great quality. Few flies if you sit by the marsh land. Service not the fastest but worth the wait.

The 'pots' were delicious. The skewers were amazing. Everything was fantastic. Large group but they took great care of us. Will definitely go back.

Simple put, it’s superb!! serving 12noon till 2.30 & 7 till 9.30 the best of the rest. I would recommend booking as it’s a little out of the way and is always busy. Enjoy!!

Great seafood rice. Attentive and quick service. Meal for two, house wine, dessert and after dinner liquer 55 Euros. A bit noisy but full of locals and very lively. Do not miss.

Back again today for amazing Cataplana Tamborin. You will have to wait approx. 40 min. to be served after ordering, but well worth the wait. Be sure to get there early OR better still make a reservation.

Best value for money meal ever. Seafood, chicken and the local delicacy conquilhas. Prawn skewer €16, grilled chicken with salad chips and rice €7, glass of red €1 😁 and all with great views of the Rio Formosa.

Went here for lunch one afternoon, sat in the outdoor area across the road from the restaurant. My grilled squid was delicious, my wife had salmon which she said was very good. Good food and great views.

Wonderful typical fish restaurant with views on the Ria Formosa. Every holiday I want to go there minimum once. Inside and outside seating. Reservations recommended.

To put it simple, the best!

Never judge a book by its cover, this is not a fancy restaurant, instead you get a very honest and typical portuguese terrace, informal and relaxed that invites you to have a good conversation while enjoying a wonderful meal. The freshest oysters, clams and fish. There are some dishes that you mustn't fail to try, such as the seafood rice with lingueirão (razor clams), the shrimp and squid skewers, and the grilled tuna belly.

Delicious regional deserts, specially le piece de resistance, the sweet potato pie, are a must.

This place is always crowded no matter the time of the year, that's how good it is. You should book ahead.

If you want an authentic Portugese fish restaurant you will not do better than this. Huge variety of fish, cooked any way you want it. Great service. Buzzing atmosphere. It's off the beaten track, but then the best restaurants always are. Most of the diners are Portugese, not tourists, and that is a very good sign. Highly recommended.

Perhaps not as good as it was, the 'new' tables and chairs are really nasty - but a nice place to go.
