Restaurante "A Caravela"

Stumbled upon this local on our last night in the Algarve. Very unassuming exterior but lovely interior dining area (all the locals prefer to sit outside so we were the only ones inside!). The young man who served us was great and the food was exceptional, best we had during our stay. The arroz de marisco was extremely generous. It came in a big clay pot filled with clams, mussels, shrimp and prawns. We also ordered the lula grelhada but didn’t expect the entire squid for €15. It was excellent. Highly recommend for those wanting authentic Portuguese food at very reasonable prices.

Very welcoming place. Staff were lovely and to both of us and our 10 month old son. The waiter spoke very good English and chatted to us about his own baby daughter.
The food was really good! And it was a good atmosphere. We sat outside and it was quiet. We will definitely be back!

This is the best restaurant we visited in Portugal. The freshest produce, cooked to perfection. Service was first class as well. Highly recommend the seafood rice dish and the squid. The squid was the best I've had.

We came here with our group for dinner in the evening. The steak on the stone was something we did not see before but it was very tasty. Also the chicken skewer was great. Would recommend for everyone. And also great service.

Friends had recommended this place so I thought we would try it. Its a typical Portuguese eatery with very attentive staff. I had steak on the stone and my wife had the meat kebab. Both were very tender. Very reasonably priced, we will definitely return.

Excellent quality honest food. Very reasonably priced. Not full of frills which we liked. Valentyne & his family do a fantastic job, service is friendly., portions enormous! Recommend clams & seafood rice.... We look forward to visiting again & hopefully finishing the rice next time!!!

Wir haben uns entschlossen in dem Restaurant zu Abend zu essen.
Das Ambiente ist ok, wir saßen draußen unter einem Pavillon, an einer nicht stark befahrenen Straße.
Der Service war zuvorkommend und freundlich, leider hatte man eine Nachbestellung von Pommes vergessen, daher einen Punkt Abzug. (Das Restaurant war zu diesem Zeitpunkt nicht stark besucht!)
Das Essen war geschmacklich sehr gut, wir hatten einmal den Tintenfisch mit Kartoffeln und Salat und einmal ein auf Stein gegrilltes Steak mit Pfefferrahmsauce, Pommes und Salat. Die Pfefferrahmsauce war mir für meinen Teil etwas zu stark, aber noch akzeptabel. Meinem Mann hat der Tintenfisch sehr gut geschmeckt.
Zum Essen hatten wir eine Cola und ein Bier und für nebenbei hatten wir 0,5 L. Sangria.
Der Sangria war lecker, sodass wir uns noch ein Kännchen Sangria bestellt haben!
Als Dessert hatten wir Honigmelone.
Auf‘s Haus gab es noch einen Absacker für uns.
Preisleistungsverhältnis stimmt voll und ganz!
Wir waren zufrieden!

Restaurant qui vaut le détour. Les brochettes de poissons sont un regal et le bœuf cuit sur pierre est une belle découverte. Personnel très agréable

Overheerlijk, alle vijf de gerechten die we kozen. Zeer betaalbaar en vriendelijke bediening. De steak on hot stone is een culinair avontuur op zich.
