We had an amazing visit to the MAAT museum. There was such a creative artistic touch to the whole museum with the most spectacular red sewn tree with lights and bead work as the first thing we saw.
The coal mine explanations and figures were super realistic and well put together.
There were lots of interactive parts of the museum in order to show the different forms of energy and how they are created as well as the historical time lines.
This has been one of my favorite museums so far.
Highly recommend.

Great architecture. The different views of the river and the surprising trip on the roof of the museum are a great experience of modern Lisbon. The combination between the innovative structure and the historical structure of the electric company is interesting. I had the privilege of visiting the wonderful exhibition of Joana Vasconcelos in both buildings and also outside. The rest of the exhibitions were also interesting, but you probably need to be an art lover to enjoy them. I was excited.

Lovely museum, with a lovely view too. Great value for the price- there were some things more aimed for children but I think it’s lovely that’s a very inclusive museum. I went in July 2023 so not sure if the display stuff has changed from now. I don’t think it’s necessary to prebook a ticket too!

MAAT is a very cool museum, as it's a museum of art architecture technology. This portion of the museum exhibits very interesting artworks. It's not very big and there are not a lot of exhibits. But the few that are there are excellent. And there is nothing cooler than this building. It looks like a fish was scales and the diamond ring sculpture almost acts as an eye of the fish when viewed from afar. You can go on top of this building and get a spectacular view of the Tagus River and the April 25th Bridge.

Modern museum at a beautiful spot, overlooking the river. I didn't go inside as u just wanted to see the beautiful architecture. I has a great area where u can see the river. I was there in October, and it was super windy!

The architecturally remarkable museum building is definitely worth a visit. The restaurant offers good Food with an indoors and outdoors terrace overlooking the Tejo River. Perfect for a coffee and a Pastel de Nata!

Very beautiful and interesting museum to visit. There is some modern art but you also get to visit the old power station where you get to learn how the system worked as well as what is being done I. The country to lower the making of electricity carbon imprint. It is fun for the kids too as they get to experience how to make electricity with there body. You can also study your own carbon imprint. The architecture of the building and the location (along the Tagus river) make it a very interesting place to visit.

Loved my time at the MAAT! The museum is made up of 3 big sections. The first one is housed in an old power plant (Tejo Station), the gardens (which I didn't explore much), and the new building. The museum tends to focus on quality, not quantity. In total, they had 3-4 exhibits but they were large. The building itself is beautiful and worth a visit just to check it out.

One of the visiting exhibits is called Plug-in by Joana Vasconcelos. She had 2 large format installations. The first was a true-to-size tree made up of fabric which was in the Tejo Station building. This new building housed a large octopus made out of fabric and LEDs and propped up on large tiled pillars that are meant to represent 4 of Lisbon's neighborhoods.

The MAAT has a lovely terrace on top offering amazing views of the river, plus a nice cafe. There's a bridge to the street on the back of the building that connects to a nearby tram and bus station.

If you have a few days in Lisbon, highly recommend giving MAAT a visit.

Resembling a giant manta ray fish, the MAAT Museum (Art, Architecture and Technology) is located by the Tagus river. Begin your visit by climbing above the museum for fantastic views of the 25April bridge and the riverside. The current exhibition of Artist Joana Vasconcelos begins already outside the museum with a giant installation of a wedding ring 💍 made of car wheels and glasses and a massive mask made of mirrors.

There is the MAAT gallery, garden and the electricity museum. Visit all three of them. This particular exhibition is about Lisbon and its boroughs (octopus) . Very tactile and restful.

If you buy the ticket online. You can enter immediately. There were many beautiful artistic works. Even though I didn't understand it because it was specific, it was enjoyable.

The MATT and surrounding areas are beautiful. Just the architecture of the building is worth the visit. The ticket to the MAAT includes the entrance to the coal power plant next door which is definitely worth visiting. I highly recommend it!

Great visit! Nice experience. Beautiful modern building to host the exhibitions. There are lockers to put the backpack at the entrance with is nice and makes the visit more enjoyable. Also the exhibition on plastic was very interesting. How it evolved in time, hiw its changing, and how we should approach it. I learned a lot.

The power station inside is quite special and there’re some installation arts in space. The building is very future design. Recommend.

Spectacular exhibition - spring 2024! I have never seen something like that in my life. 10/10. My published photo is only very small fragment of the work of art. You have to see it and feel it!

I did not see an exhibition but was only there to enjoy the discrete style of the building that was visible from the boat. The MAAT is located just on the water and blends superbly with its surroundings. Great location to take pictures.

This is a review of the public space baked into the architecture of MAAT, as I arrived too late to enter.

Clever footbridge over the highway to access the roof from the old town. The steps to the water are a great place to lay down and take in the sunset, while planning where to eat.

I regret not taking a scooter or bicycle from this point back into the city centre, as it seems the best way to make that journey. The prices of Ubers are truly too competitive here.
