However, there is no explanations in English on the walls, you can buy a book with explanations or download an application to have access to it.

Loved this museum! However the live bachalal were not in the tank when we went. Also, the descriptions are only in Portuguese fyi. There is a big ship and my son loved going in it. Great experience, loved the seashell 🐚 collection!

My family (2 young kids) loved this museum. Informative and fun with life size boats and replicas. Kind staff. Get the ticket that includes St Andres ship, it is well worth it and the museum makes the ship visit more meaningful.

Great museum in honor of all the fisherman that venture into the sea to catch Cod fish. I really appreciate the work done to built a boat replica inside the building. Plenty of parking outside. Recommended

This institution is an unsung mecca for the nautical arts which all those with contact with the North Atlantic, especially east coasters and most especially Newfoundlanders and Labradorians should have on their must see list. Wow. The wooden boats - not models but the real thing - the large, live codfish aquarium, the seashells and the high mass for the cod are all without a maritime equal - to my knowledge - and then it's wrapped up in an architectural design that's certainly must be described as very clever. Wow. More later.

Museum dedicated to the fishing of codfish; excellent aquarium filled with codfish which can be viewed from different angles. Actual fishing boat inside and moliceiro boats also. Lots of interesting exhibits all about the life of the fishermen.

There is no better place than this one to see a live bacalhau (code fish). Definitely you should visit.

Absolutely fascinating. The history of cod fishing (bacalhau), with displays of old vessels and films of the hazardous fishing trips. In the centre is an aquarium of cod. All the explanation panels are only in Portuguese, which is a shame because it's something that needs sharing with non-portuguese speakers.

Amazing place where you can see a lot of português history. They have many milímetros (boats to carry the bacalhau). There are a lot of seashells f=om around world. The best feature is the aquarium with live bacalhau.

A most interesting museum depicting the toil of cod fish fishing over the years, and with an aquarium of cod fish. The building is architecturally magnificent, having been awarded several architecture national and international prizes.
The entrance is free on the second Sunday of each month.

A really fine, modern museum telling the story of maritime Portugal. The exhibits are easily visible with great descriptive texts. One of the best museums I have ever visited, and I love museums!

Excellent museum outlining the nautical history of the area. Some fantastic boats to explore - one ship you can climb onto - interesting exhibits on navigation and orientation too

Very organized and clean, it is a very good space to visit
