Absolutely phenomenal hotel. Staff is remarkable.... one night the manager gave us his own umbrella as the front desk had none left. The day we flew out they packed us a breakfast for the car ride because we were leaving before the standard room delivery hours. The property is meticulously kept, the staff is friendly, and we were upgraded to a lovely suite for free. I highly recommend this property.

Great historical hotel located in the center of Amarante, Portugal. Staff is great. The grounds are very nice with great views of the town. Pool area is ideal for relaxing. Highly recommended.

Fabulous food with concentrated flavors & superbly attentive staff. Worth a special trip to Amarante, which is a very enjoyable, historic town.

Wonderful hotel with a very good view.
We have a suit room and a big private terrace with river and church view. In the night, we can lie down and see many stars. I like this small town, so cute so peaceful. I am so satisfied.

We stayed here 2 nights. The place is super and the staff is one the most professional and excellent in the industry. We travel a lot and found this place to be one the best. the view from our room was amazing. The hotel restaurants are also very good. The food was fantastic.

The room is spacious and clean. The Michelin restaurant food is superb. I personally would like to recommend the jogging route nearby with good river view all along. Breakfast has very good standard too !

We left yesterday for another hotel, which we disliked so much we turned round and came back for an additional two nights. And we lost money on the other hotel reservation.
The Casa da Calçada is that type of hotel. It's hard to leave!

Comfortable and quiet hotel in best location on the Tamega river. Most friendly and attentive service from reception to dinner and breakfast. My friend got an hair stylist appointmenr immediately. Romantic walkings along the river and in the old city. Nice specialty shops and atmosphere, clean streets.
Michelin star restaurant in house is an absolute must.

We arranged to have our wedding in the Casa da Calcada - civil marriage ceremony, finger food, meal and reception. It was a wonderful day and the hotel contributed enormously to the occasion. The weather was perfect and the surrounding area was ideal for pictures. The finger food was delicious and the champagne was great. The food for the main meal was also delicious but if anything, they served too much! My wife was particularly impressed by the flower arrangement at the main dinner table. The balcony was the perfect location to unwind afterwards with a few drinks. All in all, it was a great day and I'd like to think the hotel for the great service they provided.

The rooms are small but cute. The service was great, they helped us with booking tours as well as greeted us with sparkling wine. It is also home to Michelin star restaurant.

Have stayed here twice in the last year. It’s an absolutely wonderful property with two fantastic restaurants. Cute little town. Wonderful place to relax and take it easy. Can’t wait to come back.

A great hotel in a characteristic town. The service is top draw without being stuffy, the location is great and the overall experience is well worth it. Been there three times and will go again.
