Nice beach, waves can get rough. Nice sand, lots of restaurants/bars nearby. Fresh fish available if you like right out of the net.

Small coastal town with fantastic beach & amazing surf. The local fishermen go out in a boat with their net which is then literally hauled back to the beach by the tractor (it used to be horses; photos of which in a café). The net is/was full of fish, mainly sardines which are then boxed up for the market. Members of the public can buy fish from the fishermen on the beach (how fresh are these fish?!!!). Also found a café not far from the statue (down the road on the right) that has got pastries to die for...

Love this beach town! During the winter is calm but still beautiful. Most restaurants, stores, gift shops, bars, bakeries, are open and everything is within walking distance.

A man, scorned by this uncaring Earth, finds solace in the sea. My only friend, the worm upon my hook. Wriggling, writhing, struggling to surmount the mortal pointlessness that permeates this barren world. I am alone. I am empty. And yet, I fish.

Beautiful big beach in a very pleasant town. Lots of cafés and restaurants, and other shops. Great boardwalk and beach access. Good on street parking. Very nice experience!

An amazing huge sandy beach, around 40km in extension. It is doted by several small villages and towns. Praia de Mira is one of the best kept ones. It's great for nature lovers, great fish, it has lots of cycling paths, camping sites. And it doesn't get too hot, it has cool nights and during the day, temperatures get around 25°C. But you can comfortably go to the beach once it reaches 20°C. Unlike Algarve, where it can get a bit stuffy and hot.

A small but busy beach side town interesting to watch the fishing folk at work. Plenty of nice places to eat. It has a beautiful beach, but parking can be an issue on summer weekends. The bonus is a lovely lake just behind the beach with great access for everyone.

Nice beach. With lifeguards and amenities like toilets and bars and hotels it's a great placefor some nice beach time/holidays.

What a hidden gem with a little lake behind the beach full of pedalos and stand up boards. Great bars and restaurants along beach and lakeside. Also in the photo an ecowalk around another small lake.

It was so lovely to see the fishing boats come to the beach with their catch and selling it directly to whoever came to buy from them there. Old time tradition.
