Hospital CUF Cascais

I recently had surgery here and had a very pleasant experience from diagnosis to post operative care. The process was extremely efficient and I felt like I was in great hands. When the hospital got my exam results they proactively called me and asked me to come in and see the doctor more urgently than initially booked. There were a lot of little details that made the surgery so much more relaxing right from taking care that I was warm enough and without any pain. The anaesthesiologist was so sweet as she gently caressed my head as I was being administered the medication which made me feel like I was getting a spa treatment vs surgery. So simple but it made a big impact on me. I had an individual room which was very comfortable and I had a very peaceful sleep post op. After I was home for 24 hours the hospital called me to check how I was doing and again highlighted that I could call them if I had any questions or concerns. All in all I felt that they were really paying attention to me and my needs and so I felt like I was in great hands. I highly recommend this hospital.

The staff not only speaks excellent English, but they also provide a level of service that exceeded my expectations. My experience with physical therapist Rita Ferreira was truly outstanding. Her expertise, professionalism, and dedication to my well-being made a significant difference in my rehabilitation journey. I am grateful for the exceptional care I received from this location.

We unfortunately had to visit A&E twice last weekend. Both times my husband was so well looked after. Polite friendly & professional staff (good level of English spoken ) We saw the Triage nurse within 5 minutes of arrival & care was fast after that too. But this obviously depends on the care you need. Very reassuring to have this hospital in Cascais.

My review is related mostly to general services: lab, general doctor etc. But must say everything is very well organised, staff is very friendly and helpful

I'm writing about my experience at CUF Cascais during a 3 month period which involved countless visits after I broke my elbow. I visited the emergency room, had many x-rays, myriad pre-surgery tests, surgery, an overnight stay, and follow-up appointments.
First, the vast majority of the staff were very kind, empathetic, and helpful. Of course you always run into someone who maybe isn't as gentle or isn't as friendly as the others, but overall the staff exceeded my expectations.
Second, the layout of the hospital can be confusing, especially if you aren't familiar with the Portuguese system of using tickets and waiting rooms. Don't hesitate to ask if you are in doubt, and you will be directed to the correct location.
Third, as someone who is still working on their Portuguese, I had no trouble, as most of the staff can speak English if you need, or speak slowly to make it easier to understand (I still recommend learning Portuguese if you intend to live here long-term, though-- it's the right thing to do).
Fourth, the facilities all seemed up-to-date. I was very comfortable. I had a very nice, large, clean single room for post-surgery recovery with a view of a park.
I don't remember the names of everyone who helped me, but I will forever be grateful to the ER nurses whose jovial demeanor calmed me down, the post-surgery nurses who were so kind and caring, the anesthesiologist who put me to sleep so nicely, the nurse who removed my staples so gently, and my surgeon, Dr. Tiago Carvalho, who did an amazing job with my surgery and assuaging all my concerns!

In and out in under 30 minutes at a very reasonable price for X-rays and personal doctor consultation.

My experience has been extremely positive. Dr French, is knowledgeable, professional, thorough and caring.
Follow up appointments are seamless and prompt. Most staffs fluent in English and friendly. Sometimes a bit of a wait at imaging.

I went to the emergency care, everything went very fast. Well organized. People were nice and speak good english or french so it's easy to communicate when your Portuguese isn't good :)

I see so many negative reviews I felt compelled to add something positive. We have recently moved and have already seen doctors, had labs and COVID tests all at CUF …the doctors have provided good care, advice and referrals and our labs and Covid tests were done efficiently with results returned quickly. We have private insurance so visits and services are all very affordable.

The hospital is very near our place. Accessibility is great. However, I feel they need more auxilliary and administrative staff to help patients navigate the premises from waiting rooms, to floor number, etc. My family doctor, Dr. Filho was great in explaining and clarifying things to me.All in all, I am generally pleased.

I have been to this hospital 3 times now, twice for consultations and once for bloodwork. The process is very well organized, and the staff is professional and courteous. They make it much less stressful to visit the doctor because everything is managed so well.

Great pediatric care. Dr Gonzales was very nice with our 3 yr old and thorough with her care!

Just stay away from the vending machine at the lobby. It stole my 5€ :(

Went there on Christmas day to have stitches removed after surgery in a different hospital (was on holiday in Cascais). Experienced nothing but efficient, capable and friendly staff.

Excellent hospital and conscientious doctors.
