I had a fantastic experience at this charming, traditional restaurant.
We were warmly received by the host, whose family own and run the restaurant with the passion and pride of toureiros.
The food was cooked with love, and the generous portions were packed with flavour.
I will be a regular here from now on.

Update - I'm a regular at Barrete Verde now, and it's consistently excellent.
You should definitely call ahead and reserve a place though, especially on weekends.

Update - Still the best.
I've eaten here tons of times and they never disappoint.
It's a gem of a restaurant where you can taste the love.

Very nice atmosphere into a traditional Portuguese restaurant.

What a brilliant, lively, authentic local restaurant. We had a very enjoyable meal here on our last night in Portugal.

Attentive service despite being really busy, good, honest food served in generous portions. We had both meat and fish and both were really well cooked and delicious.

The restaurant was full of local people - always a good sign.

An authentic Portuguese restaurant where locals flock for lunch. Make sure you book as the place is always full. The nenu is simple, strictly in Portuguese and everything is delicious. Their rabbit is one of the best I have ever had. Excellent price quality ratio and efficient service. This place is an institution in Alcochete.

Amazing typical portuguese cuisine, also has some very specific local dishes.

This is possibly one of the best recipies for "Bacalhau com natas" I've ever had in hundreds of places in portugal!

The only downside is that usually it's VERY crowded and hard to get a table on weekends.
