Honestly I know nothing about this place. But it reminded me the ancient Mughal architect which we often see in films. Also people were there with their families. There is also a beautiful mosque inside the fort.
My elders told me that it had tunnels beneath which connects it with "TOOP MANKYALA".The tunnels opens inside a tomb like solo building which you guys can see in my pictures.

This small fort packs a punch with its boundary wall, ancient rooms a mesmerizing mosque. Surprisingly no entry tickets tread carefully in closed shoes. GT roads hidden in historical jewel await for you.

This a very small fort with a boundary wall and some remaints of rooms and buildings on the side. There is a very big, splendid mosque inside the fort. No entry tickets. Its is quite nearby GT road. Wear close shoes when visiting due to uneven surface.

We visited Rawat Fort on February 21, 2022 during my last trip to Pakistan. It was my first time there and I must say it was very lovely ! Very historical spot, and a nice place to take pictures, relax and talk, take a walk and soak up the beauty of the place. It was quiet and peaceful the day we were there, and would be a nice place for families to visit, and the architecture and landscape make it ideal for a wedding photo shoot… or any photo shoot! Another one of the many Beautiful places in Pakistan.

Loved this fort. The historic architecture of Delhi Sultanate attracts you a bit but not as the Mughals do.
It's very close to the Islamabad expressway in rawat. 10 minutes max drive from main Islamabad expressway.
Among the many forgotten relics spread across the dry and arid land of Potohar Plateau is the Rawat Fort, which lies about 18km east of Rawalpindi on G.T. Road. The etymology of the word ‘Rawat’ is said to trace back to the Arabic word ‘rebaat’ which mean ‘sarai’ in Urdu – a roadside inn for travellers. Contemporary historians have also concluded that the building’s design resembles a sarai rather than a fort. Historically, many of these roadside inns lined the G.T. Road and were used by invaders from Central Asia and Afghanistan. According to traditions, Rawat Fort was built by the Ghakkar tribe in 16th century. The region is also said to have been the battleground between the Ghakkar chief Sultan Sarang Khan and Sher Shah Suri in 1546 AD. The central courtyard of the fort contains ruined graves, that supposedly belong to the tribal chief and his two sons, who died fighting Sher Shah Suri. The two main entrances open to the east and the west. The walls of the fort are lined with small rooms, perhaps rented out to travellers. A quadrangular building, resembling a baradari, can also be found within the fort, along with a mosque. However, the original shape of the fort has been modified several times as it has gone under renovation and maintenance.

A small fort ' can be visited within half an hour . Not well preserved except main gate & central building . A mosque is located inside it for nearby community. Completely encircled by modern day house . Not worth a special visit from far areas.

A good place to refresh your self and the history.
The main place within this site is an old Masjid (1000 plus years almost and well maintained by CDA) welcomes namazi to offer namaz 5 times a day.

That's a historical must visiting place for history lovers. When i visited, the process of refurbishment was stared. They were building boundary wall of fort. Lots of thing were being changed. The tomb stone was renamed.
The fort was founded as a caravanserai in the 15th century by Salteen-e-Dehli, though the caravan itself may have been built atop a Ghaznavid-era fort that was established in 1036 CE.
