Although it appears old, it functions efficiently. The station provides ample seating and clear signage to guide passengers. At times, it can be bustling with trains arriving and departing. Despite being a busy place, it offers a great starting point for journeys and exploring new destinations. The station is generally clean and well-maintained, although restroom facilities need improvement as there are only two for the entire station.

The atmosphere at the station is bustling with travelers, packed lunch boxes, and emotional goodbyes. It's a mix of worried and happy faces, with occasional fights over seats and luggage management. The travel hustles ❤ crowded place but well managed plus i love that ronaq of travel bags, packed lunch boxes, last good byes, alot of worried & some happy faces. The fights over seats & luggage management. The noise of families & the hustle of station workers. It is all so lovely nostalgic & have a complete different kind of vibe 💫

The Rawalpindi Railway Station was opened in 1881 and was aimed to connect Lahore to Peshawar via Rawalpindi and is one of the major stops on the Karachi-Peshawar railway line.
The building constructed in the Victorian era is an example of "Indo-Saracenic architecture" a.k.a Indo-Gothic with yellow sandstone walls with arched entrances.
The place is well managed and maintained and is truly a heritage and a notable historical site especially in the twin cities and generally in Pakistan.
Having travelled a lot from this railway station it's a place that is very nostalgic for me as well and perhaps others like me too who love the trains, the old times and the stories these old places tell to those who want to listen.
There are several tuck shops where snacks and amazing chai can be found.
Parking facilities are available. The place is located in the heart of the Rawalpindi city in Saddar.

One of the oldest railway station of Pakistan, with almost every place ticket, including Peshawar, Karachi, Nowshera, Lahore, Multan, Bahawalpur, you name it.

The Staff are cooperative and all the facilities are of their best, love to travel with station like these.

Posting review for green line train, i travelled from Rwp-Kci (22 hours),AC parlour..a very good service , well mannered staff, good for families to travel..complementary dinner, breakfast, snacks , shaving kit.. Rs 10300 Rwp-Karachi on Parlour and around 12000 on AC Business..DONT TRAVEL By AC BuSINEsS and i travelled on my way back, horrible compartments ,, better to travel by parlour only.. book tickets in advance and u will get some rebate

This is an historic place. This rail station was first operated in 1881. The rail engine in the pictures is made by German company Heno Meg in 1932, and is placed at Rawalpindi Railway Station on March 2000.

It is the Railway station of Rawalpindi, Pakistan located near Sadar Bazar. Car parking fee is Rs 50/-. Parking space is limited. There are 02 ticket counters at the entrance of the station. It has 5 platforms. Cleanliness was superb. Fresh drinking water is also available. 10 to 12 tuck shops and a big restaurant is also situated at the main platform. Public toilets are also available. Entrance is wheelchair accessible. There are numerous benches to sit and relax. Cieling fans are installed and working but it covers only a small area which gets congested in rush hours. A railway police office and infirmary is on the platform. Cargo facilities are also available here. There are two pedestrian bridges to go to the other platforms.

It is a perfect Railway Station. Students can find hotels outside there and anyone can get taxi easily. Restaurants are just located outside the station.

Rawalpindi Railway Station is spacious and clean with plenty of stalls offering a variety of food. It contains restaurants too with a plethora of fast and Desi food items available. People here are found to be good, generous and cooperating. Don't ignore to buy platform tickets if you're visiting Rawalpindi Railway Station to see off a relative or friend as you may require to reproduce it any time there.

As a rail fan i enjoyed it a lot. But the station should be more clean and well lit at night.
