Delicious food, complete Japanese grocery.

The staff are always friendly and accommodating. They have a good selectionof Japanese food products plus a dining area at the back where you can eat Japanese meals with a wide selection from rice meels, sushi,sashimi, rolls, gyoza and even hot dogs

For starters they have a section at the back of the grocery store for dining. Its a bit small. Limited seating but it gets the job done. Get a seat first then order at the counter. As far as the ramen is concerned, its really good. It looks simple but it is well executed from the visuals to the taste profile. The chicken is crispy and not oily.

Lot's of Japanese products to choose from. I really like buying crabsticks and Furikake here since it's so full of flavor. Although what I don't like is the slowness when trying to pay for what I purchased. Last time I went there, there is only 1 cash register working, the line was so long and slow.

Update : 2 days after, they messaged me and offered to replace the 5 pieces I complained about. Staff claimed they sent chutoro by mistake. It wasn't even chutoro tbh. It was regular tuna loin. Pero ayoko na palakihin pa. At least they admitted their mistake. Increasing my 1 star to 2 stars.

To be fair Konbino serves excellent fresh sashimi. Their dine in area is also very convenient.

Otoro is the fattiest and most expensive part of the tuna. My friends and I always eat this to reward ourselves. 5 pieces is 1,699 pesos. It's more economical to order 10 pieces at 3,259.

Look at the picture. The redder ones are supposedly otoro as well. I've never seen otoro this red. It looks like and tastes like regular tuna. When I got my order, it was already wrapped in foil so I had no chance to see it. I only saw what I ordered when I got home.

The staff I talked to insisted that it came from one slab of tuna. Don't really understand gow that can be. The red one didn't have any fat. It tasted like tuna that you can buy at Farmer's Market.

Such a disappointment. We have been regular patrons of Konbini. Good thing the owner is investigating it. Hope something comes of it.
