The Manila Zoo provides a basic experience for visitors interested in seeing a variety of animals. While it offers a glimpse into the animal kingdom, some areas may benefit from improvements in terms of animal welfare and facility maintenance. Visitors should manage their expectations as the zoo may not meet the standards of more modern facilities found elsewhere. Overall, it can be a decent outing for families and individuals interested in learning about local and exotic wildlife, but there's room for enhancement. It's still an enjoyable place especially for kids.

It didn't feel so hot because of the trees and plants. It would be better if Ma'ali was still there along with other animals we saw there a decade ago. We missed the hippo, the horse, the chimpanzee, the giraffe; I think there was also a gorilla and then a few more when we visited before. But overall, the ambiance is way better than before. It's better to visit during weekdays, though, especially when you have young kids, so that it's not so crowded and for you to enjoy the experience better. We have seniors and kids with us, so we really appreciate the air-conditioned areas such as The Butterfly Garden.

It’s a quite a small zoo, compared to other zoos that I’ve been to. But it’s great that there’s a zoo available here in the city, when you need some time to be around animals and reenergise yourself. The white tigers are beautiful and you can have a close view of them.

After Manila Zoo was renovated I can proudly say that I have visited this place and I would like to go back there over and over again with my nieces and nephews.

Galing mo Yorme for making it possible to turn this place as beautiful as it is now! Well done! #ProudManileño

It's been a decade or more since I visited this place and they have immensely improved everything! 😍 I love how they organize each sectors and how they group each kind of animals. It is unfortunate for us that we only had short time touring the place as well as the weather was bad that we decided to cut our tour. Adult or kids will surely enjoy this place! Tips: take a picture of the map first so you can decide where to go prior to, bring a lot of towels, fan and change of clothes as you will walk a LOT 'cause there's high humidity and lastly, do not forget to hydrate yourselves. you may opt to take a ride but I highly encourage to just walk cause it's a form of exercise also 👌 Highly recommended place 💯

A modern, clean, and well designed zoo!

The last time I visited the Manila Zoo is probably 9 years ago and I must say, they have done a great job to bring this zoo to a respectable standard.
The facilities are clean, the animal areas are well maintained, and most importantly, the landscaping of the whole zoo is nicely done.

Yes, some animals would benefit from more space and I firmly believe some of them should retire elsewhere, particularly the poor lonely elephant. But apart from this, the zoo is definitely a great place for families to enjoy their time.

Important: book the tickets and pay online via their website to avoid waiting to enter.

Zoo looks good and new. Facilities look modern and there are a variety of places to eat. Could be more interactive though (Tour Guide, Trivias etc).

Buy tickets in advance to avoid long queues. No waiting time for me

It takes around 2-3 hours to go through the whole zoo

and some of the animals could really benefit with having some friends :) only saw 1 zebra and 1 elephant 1 Asian Tiger 1 Siberian Tiger they must be sad living all alone

My recent trip to Manila was nothing short of extraordinary, and I can't help but share my enthusiasm for this vibrant and captivating city. From the moment I landed at Ninoy Aquino International Airport, I knew I was in for a treat.

The hospitality I encountered throughout my stay was exceptional. The locals were not only friendly but went out of their way to make me feel welcome. The warmth and genuine kindness of the people truly added an extra layer of joy to my experience.

Accommodations were top-notch, and I chose to stay in one of the city's luxurious five-star hotels. The attention to detail, impeccable service, and breathtaking views of the city skyline were beyond my expectations. Waking up to the sunrise over Manila from my room was a surreal experience that I'll cherish forever.

Manila's rich cultural heritage was evident in every corner of the city. Exploring historic sites like Intramuros and Rizal Park was like taking a step back in time. The stories of the past came alive through well-preserved architecture and informative guides who shared fascinating anecdotes.

I couldn't resist indulging in Manila's diverse culinary scene. From savoring the flavors of traditional Filipino dishes to exploring trendy international restaurants, every meal was a delightful adventure for my taste buds. The night markets and street food stalls were an absolute must-visit, offering a wide array of mouthwatering delicacies.

Transportation around the city was convenient, with a mix of modern infrastructure and the iconic jeepneys providing a unique mode of travel. Exploring the bustling markets, shopping districts, and modern malls allowed me to witness the dynamic blend of tradition and modernity that defines Manila.

Manila's nightlife was another highlight of my trip. The city comes alive after dark, with vibrant bars, live music venues, and rooftop lounges offering spectacular views of the illuminated skyline. The energy and enthusiasm of the nightlife scene were infectious, making every evening an unforgettable experience.

The manila zoological and botanical garden (aka New Manila Zoo) is vastly improved and makes efficient use of the space with multi level design. There are spaces for more exhibits, but as of our most recent visit there was no giraffe, hippo, and hyenas. Sadly, Mali, the only elephant in the zoo, died Nov 2023. There are many other animals are present. Reptile area is air-conditioned. Butterfly garden is the highlight, but the exhibit only has live butterflies during summer season. There are some food concessionaires, but they are average quality and not cheap. the air conditioned hobby shop is also nice but items are a bit pricey. Tickets booked by website and can be paid onsite, or online to get a QR code ticket. overall the newly renovated (2022) zoo is a much better experience compared to the original manila zoo (the first zoo in Asia!).

This newly renovated zoological park will make you feel in awe of the design although they tried to mimic the Singapore feels through some architectural and structural choices. They maintained the positionings of the entire zoo making it nostalgic yet the ambience is new and improved. Some animals are not yet in their cages and there are still some improvements to be made.
