Plaza Mexico contains several markers and monuments commemorating this history between the Philippines and Mexico. This area is situated near the Pasig River and is also just across the Intendencia Building. The Binondo-Intramuros bridge also now straddles the river nearby.

Plaza Mexico is a historic square bordering the Pasig river. The place was named Plaza Mexico in 1964 to commemorate the expedition of Miguel Lopez de Legazpi and Andres de Urdaneta from New Spain (Mexico) and the historic Manila-Acapulco galleon trade relations between the two nations that lasted 250 years. Currently the entrance to Plaza Mexico is closed due to outgoing reconstruction of the building of Intendecia.
