Gold Plate Restaurant

This restaurant have been open since August 28 2018, but this is the first time for me to tried it today.

The Shabu Shabu and Korean Grill is all you can eat. Except for the seafood in Shabu Shabu you can have unlimited refills. The shabu shabu soup is divided into spicy and normal. And I tried both of it. Being a shabu shabu fan, i would consider this restaurant to be very good.

I would like to make special mention of the restaurant service staff, they are kind and helpful. They assist us in the grilling and even in the preparation of the shabu shabu. They would check on you every now and then to ask if you need to order or refill any of the item you like.

For the grilled beef and pork, both are above average.

I highly would recommend this restaurant when you are in San Nicolas or Laoag City here in Ilocos Norte

Gold Plate's unlimited samgyupsal meat and side dishes are legit and satisfying. Foodgasm at its finest! A must try here in Ilocos Norte!

i give 5 star to the food, service and the place... i recommend this place to every one... try it for you to know a worthwile feel and taste... 👍👍👍

food selection not much para sa presyo, tapos ang bagal nila magreflenish. we, 14 of us, went on a Friday lunch, plus the Friday crowd. tapos ung tagal nila magdagdag ng pagkain sa buffet bar. as a buffet place dapat well prepared sila, example pre boil na kahit papaano ung karne like ung mga twalya sa kare-kare para madale na sila magluto ulit ng next batch. hindi ung saka pa lang sila magpapakulo pag naubos na ung naunang batch na sinerve nila. mananawa ka tlg sa kakaintay ng next round ng food and will decide to just leave the place na lang. sa dami ng ibang resto offering the same buffet/eat all u can menu, the place need to improve and reinnovate para masustain nila ung pwesto nila. thanks and be safe.

3 problems:
1. They call their item "samgyupsal" but it does not even meet the minimum requirement to be called as such. A slice of meat is too thin like bacon that it shrinks into a small piece. It feels like they served meat for a hotpot. "Sam" btw is three in Korean, which means there should be 3 layers.
2. If you order the one order of the samgyup and not the unlimited version, the side dishes are also not unlimited. This is weird because banchan (side dishes) in ANY Korean restaurant is always unlimited. i understand that cost may be a factor, but come on. If it is limited, then at least give a sufficient single portion that equals the amount of meat. They only gave us like a spoon of each side dish, and that's it!
3. We also requested service water, and they promptly gave us a pitcher of cold water. Great! But no cups! We waited for a bit to check if maybe the cups are on the way, but no; the crew were just watching us. I don't know if the crew were new, but this business has been in operation for some time now (We visited the place late last year, that's 2019).

Their food is not worth the price, in short, it is overpriced. Food tastes bland and very limited choice on food, especially on their “unlimited promos”. Service is a little slow but the people are nice. I just hope they lower their price worthy of the food they serve. So that next time people won’t feel full but not contented.
