Lake Danao

This is a very nice spot, you should visit it, when you are in Ormoc city. There are some spots at the lake where you can go down, we decide to drive with our car to the end of the road. There is a silent nice spot with floating cottages and you can swim also here.

i do really love this place..me and my gf went here and while were on our way to this lake, we were captivated with the green sceneries..it was quiet a long ride but once you get there it'll be all worth it..a must-try for adventure seekers! another place to add on your bucket list..

Lake Danao is a guitar-shaped lake on the island of Leyte in the Philippines. The lake is covering an area of 148 hectares (370 acres). It is situated in the 2,193 hectares (5,420 acres) Lake Danao Natural Park, which also includes the Amandiwin mountain range.

We were able to drop by Lake Danao, and we saw the beauty of the lake. What's amazing is that it is free for the public. 😊

Its a calming place. Lake that is very deep so be watch out. Going there is so refreshing and the weather is around 19C to 20C. Its like going to Baguio, enjoy the coldness of the mountain, see Lot of lily and other flower sights. We went there around 3pm and came at nearly 4pm, we enjoy the sunset , the food and the calm water of the lake.

Large & calm elevated lake up the hills behind Ormoc city. A good place to go on hot day because high altitude freshness, cool water temperature, and clouds. Floating cottages & kayaks available to rent per hour. Bring your own food and drinks, because options here are limited. For people who can't swim there's a shallow concrete pool area beside the carpark.

It's affordable and I love the cold breeze in the afternoon! The water was murky green but we enjoyed our swim and the floating cottage! It's a good place to be one with nature!

A great place to unwind and reconnect with nature. Floating cottages and kayaks are at P150 per hour each. You can order food, water, etc from the shops outside and have it delivered to your cottage via kayak. Shellfish sisig is a must try. Floating coconut and suha vendors come visit the cottages area from time to time. I hope the locals maintain this. Also, I hope the locals can be more strict in waste management and ensuring peace and order. I hope guests respect the serenity of nature. Lastly, I'm not sure there are lifeguards or rescue people in the area so don't swim or kayak too far from your cottage as it could be difficult to swim against the current due to the wind. If there are lifeguards, I hope they can be more attentive - 2 kids seemed stuck at the middle of the lake for a long time due to sudden downpour and wind and might be too embarrassed to call for help.

The place has a cool environment. Kayaking is great with their floating cottage. i really had a nice experience there.

If you want to cool your mind and have a peace of mind. It best to try here at Lake Danao Park.

Definitely the best swimming and picnic area if you are in Ormoc City.
