Hidden gem at the heart of Manila. For so many years, I just passed through this park til the pandemic when I discovered it. The park is enclosed with walls with one entrance securely guarded. There are park cleaners to ensure that fallen leaves are swept neatly. Pets are most welcome, too, making the park a top favorite of mine. No worries if you wake up late because the shady trees provide shelter from the sun’s heat.

Super ganda pa din ng ambiance.. U can see the interaction of human and environment sa place na to.. Still solemn yet medyo creepy kung solo but really exciting and apart from it so historical.. Good for Seniors and of course all ages.. Sobrang nag enjoy ang aking mudrabels, it's her 1st time.. Thank You Paco Park and Cemetery!

One of the oldest landmarks in Manila, the Paco Cemetery now known as Paco Park was inaugurated 200 years ago. The cemetery, designed based on the masterplan of Maestro de Obras Nicolas Ruiz, was completed on April 22, 1822.

Its construction began in 1814 and served as a burial ground for victims of cholera epidemic in 1820’s prior to its completion. Dr. Jose Rizal was secretly buried at “Rizal Tomb” after his execution on December 30, 1896. This was also the final resting place of the three martyred priests – Fathers Mariano Gomes, Jose Burgos and Jacinto Zamora.

The place was serene good for ME time but a bit creepy feels because of the rustic structure and also seeing tombstone around.

Visited unexpectedly when we pass san marcelino st ..it brought me back to my highschool days during mid 80s when open spaces, parks were the hangouts of teenagers on a budget. And our music teacher compelled our class to watch Paco Park Presents, an array of musical performances every friday afternoon.
Originally named Cementerio General de Dilao,a recreational park and once a municipal cemetery built by the Dominicans during the spanish period..
Its charm lies on it unique design a circular enclave, add to its old structure , stories of creepiness, ghost and spirits.

Serene and quiet. Perfect for contemplating. The chapel is also air conditioned. Would recommend holding your wedding or attending Sunday mass here. It's also a mini park so you can roam inside the vicinity and just appreciate nature.

The place is conducive to relaxation! Very nostalgic and has historical significance. We always go to this place during college, for a team building session, practice session if we have student organization activities | Pregnant with my first child - Carl Jacob Revilles. This was taken inside Paco Park during the Accountancy Week program (Leadership Training) of the Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) wherein my husband Jay Revilles was the PRESIDENT.

This park is beautiful and very peaceful in the morning. I visited the day after a tour of Intramuros where the guide told me about Paco Park. If you are interested in history and you want a beautiful setting to read about the history of Manila and the Philippines, you should definitely add this park to your sightseeing list. Do keep in mind the somber history of this site and remain respectful.

No entrance fee to go here. It's a park that has a small chapel inside. They are open until 5PM only. Restrooms were closed when I tried to enter them. I saw some kids playing badminton, and some adults jogging here.

Serenity in the City.
I was raised in Manila and nearing my senior year but shame on me for never visiting Paco Park ‘til today, Feb 25, 2022. The park is very spacious and enclosed, making me feel safe and secure. It’s a wonderful place to stroll, exercise, do tai-chi or just sit and relax while savoring the clean green surroundings. The grounds are very well tended with flowers in full colorful bloom. Trees, grass and other plants are lushly green. Birds chirp above and around, feed on the grass while cats lazily lick themselves. The park is pet friendly as visitors walk their dogs. Just be sure to leash ‘em and clean up “their mess, ” says the Security Guard. It’s really so beautiful, peaceful and serene in the park. It made me forget I was in the middle of the city!
Notable mentions: There’s a security guard at the entrance. No entrance fee. The rest rooms are clean and spotless at past 8AM. Hopefully, they’re well maintained throughout the day.

Pretty little park with some cool spots in it. I recommend stopping in for a quiet rest or a bit of history.

Not a must see, but was a convenient stop for me between my hotel and the main tourist area.

Paco Park was once Manila's municipal cemetery built by the Dominicans during the Spanish colonial period. The cemetery was officially inaugurated in 1822, although it had been in use for two years prior to its completion. On December 30, 1896, Dr. José Rizal was interred at Paco Park after his execution at Bagumbayan. Interment at the Paco Cemetery ceased in 1912. The remains of those buried there were exhumed and transferred to other cemeteries but 65 people still remain buried at Paco. Nowadays Paco is a recreational park. It is open to the public daily. The entrance is free.

The atmosphere is so serene, a lot of trees, you can meditate here. It's very historic, so if you like that, I recommend you go to this park.
