Mt. Puting Bato

Awesome, puting bato peak is still improving since Ive been here 3 years ago. Its a must destination for people who love to see a good view of the vastness of the sea. Awesome for treak beginners.

Trek is not that hard. Peak is perfect for camping with great overlooking view of the sea and davao lights (at night)

Relatively easy trail and the fog will welcome you.

A suitable trek for beginners.
Here's how to get there:

From Sasa Wharf Davao City you have to ride a barge going to Samal Island, it's only 10 pesos per head. When you finally reached Samal, you have to ride a single motorcycle (habal-habal) and inform the driver that you will be heading to Mt. Puting Bato.

Now, there will be 2 trails to get to the peak of Mt. Puting Bato:
1.) jump off site - the driver will drop you to the starting point where the trail would be 1 hour or more (depends on your own pace). the trail is a little bit challenging tho. transpo fee would be 100 per head

2.) tiil sa puting bato (feet of mt. puting bato) - 30 minutes trek, easy trail. plain road. if you want to reach puting bato with ease, you can try this one. transpo fee would be 125 per head

But if you're a risk-taker and an adventurous person I can highly recommend the starting point!

Me and my workmates tried the Starting Point and the over-all experience was SUPERB! We successfully reached the peak without the help of any guide, if you want one, tour guide is only 100 pesos. The mountain peek stands for 410 meters (or more) above the ground. By the way, you will pass through 3 campsites going to the peak. you have to pay 20 pesos for each campsites (environmental fee), if you're planning to have an overnight stay you will just pay 40 pesos and you can enjoy the rest of your night in the campsite (just bring tent or duyan). the peak is very breathtaking tho. a must-try hike for people who are into nature and adventure. don't worry about bottled water, campsites are selling bottled water (mineral water) for only 25 pesos.

If you're planning to traverse, going down from the peak will only take you 30 minutes, just plain road. I suggest you have to take a rest and unwind in cannibad after a tiring trek. there are lots of nice beaches there. take a motorcycle for only 75 pesos. BUT YOU CAN HAGGLE THE PRICE FOR ONLY 35 PESOS!

Beautiful experience though we had to stop for fees before we could proceed. I would suggest to take the 2-hour trail to make it more challenging. ☺
