Ate here multiple times while having a dive vacation in Sabang Beach. For the solo traveller it is the best place to have a drink and people watch and enjoy the sunset on their balcony. Strong drinks and wifi, satisfying food, and nice servers. A good time!

I stayed in Puerto Galera a few days to join the Puerto Galera hash and dive. Chuck, the owner, and Leidy, the manager were fantastic and welcoming. The food was good and well priced. Especially, the nightly grill and side dishes.

On the diving side Jay was an excellent knowledgeable head guide? and Kexia, Ruby, and Rommel were all incredibly friendly, talented, knowledgeable, and safe divers. I'd highly recommend going here for diving in Puerto Galera.

This resort has it all. The food is definitely some of the best in Sabang. The dive instructors are top notch and make safety their highest priority. Lots of different rooms but they're all solid and good value. It's on the boardwalk so you get a great view and location.

We didn't stay in the resort but did our diving with them.snd had couple of breakfasts in the restaurant. The review is for the dive shop, super friendly and safety-oriented operation. Pre-dive briefing is the most detailed we had in 5 years diving. I had a problem equalizing quickly due to some mild cold and they arrange a dive plan to accommodate that. The dive shop guides and instructors are super friendly and professional.

Been coming back here 3 times all year for the wonderful diving. When I could I stayed and ate here. Great accomodations, food& drink, staff & hospitality. The English speaking dive Community here are all professionals and are a hoot.

I needed a good breakfast and decided to take a beautiful ride along the coast road to Captain Greg's. I was a bit disappointed with the maps directions as it took me to the middle of nowhere about 7 kilometers away from Captain Gregg's. Then got onto their face book page and got the correct directions from that. It was a good experience once their food was great and a good hearty breakfast I had the cornbeef hash with egg. Then had a nice chat with a Utube blogger that is here on a vacation from Angeles, Philly in the Philippines. It's also a pleasant view overlooking the sea and watching the dive bouts go out The service was good and the staff were pleasant. I'll probably go again tomorrow for breakfast.

Definitely one of the better places to stay on the island for the price you pay!

Firstly, location is very convenient to the bars, and various restaurants around the area. (granted that Sabang area is not that big).

Rooms are clean and spacious, toilets are new and nicely renovated as well - major plus points. You even get a duvet which is great, as the room comes with strong AC.

Most rooms open up to the sea and you get a good view.

Staff at the hotel are very friendly and will help you with anything you need. There is a booth where you can book your ferry tickets to Batangas which is very convenient.

If you’re at Capt’n Gregg’s for diving, you’re at the right place as well. Equipment are new and clean, and works well. Being a beginner diver, I was nervous but there are a lot of experienced divers here who are all willing to lend a helping hand no matter how (in)experienced you are. Boat is located right in front of you so you’re not lugging your equipment a long way.

I would say you do get the full package all in 1 place - good accommodation, good diving school and good food at the restaurant, with an amazing view, coupled with exceptional service.

Will definitely be back next time, thank you for the hospitality!

We just had dinner here, so I have no idea about their room. But the overall look nice because of this is a new building with new renovation.
The foods here are really delicious, they have various foods included roast beef steak, I ordered a roast Bulalo, that's really impressed me, very big set with reasonable, of course very delicious, the beef is very tender and juicy even that is not the regular cooking recipe. I like Bulalo very much, but all my experiences are served with soup, this meal is without soup, but obviously delicious. Strong recommend to try this if you like Bulalo.

I ate at the restaurant and did not stay here but did visit twice in my short, four day trip. Fish was great and the fries were jasmine-flavored. As a bonus, margaritas are delicious!

Professional, Friendly and Experienced. The 3 essential qualities which the staff at Captain Gregg`s Dive center have to make anyone`s visit memorable and well worth while.

During my time at the centre I had both Dave and Aaron as my instructors to help me get fully competent and skilled as an advanced open water diver. They were both diligent and organised in ensuring that I attained all the knowledge and skills (and beyond) to be more than ready for my advanced dives. Both instructors went that extra mile to ensure I became the best I could be and gave all their time and effort that was reasonable to answer my questions and show me all I need to know to be a proficient diver.

The centre is clean, well organised and all their equipment and gear is well maintained and up to date. The centre has a well structured system in regards clients gear and dive times which makes the experience stress free.

Dave is excellent in making you feel at home, joking around and doing anything to help out. his relaxed nature makes you feel at ease in the water and the centre. It was great to share a couple of captain Gregg`s famous Gin Juices (Amazing and good value. Got to try) over sunset with the other clients, guests and instructors. It`s like one big family at Captain Gregg`s.

Aaron is super professional, knowledgeable and makes you feel like your getting the best instruction available. His experience will make you feel safe underwater and also inspired to be the best diver you can be both in and out of the water.

Although Captain Gregg`s may not be the cheapest centre on the island, the price is irrelevant in what you get in return. At Captain Gregg`s you will get the best instructing around, warm hospitality, family feel and a great experience. You get the course and more! Worth every Penny. You won`t regret it.

Book a course at Captain Gregg`s and have a great experience during the day and hang around the bar in the evening for social drinks and a warming BBQ. Great vibes in the bar with lots of character.

This is not a review for the accomodation or food as I didn't stay or eat at captain Gregg's. However the gin juice is amazing as stated above and the bar is a cool place to hang out.

Great diving Staff.
Professionals and really friendly.
Even my regulator was damage and they fix me only gor the reason I was diving with them.
Dave, the manager, is a great headcoach of a great team
And they treat you as a member of their dive family.
The dive guides Bigs and John are really great and show you great places for taking great pictures.
They know the way to find all the big and small and weard creatures.
And the two guys all the crew are incredible guys.
They are always willing to help you.
They are hard-workers
And they are friendly.
My only option always I'll come back there

In the Heart ♥ of Sabang Bay. The best for location and home cooked foods plus a selection of world class beers, famous for its Gin Juice . Superb for Diving and Accommodation with a family feel.
The only place where you can get free photos from your dives and posted on the Capt'n Gregg's Facebook page..

I stayed at Capt'n Greggs back in 2012 and it was a really great property. It was very clean, VERY cheap ($20/night for a large room), had beautiful views, friendly staff, and it also had it good food. I would highly recommend this place!

We had a great time with Dave and his crew! Thank you very much, we definitely want to come back. Diving with you was superb but we also loved the GinJuice 😀 Food and rooms upstairs were also really good.
We checked out many places before deciding for a divecenter and this one was the best by far. Keep up your amazing work!

This was a great base to dive in Puerto Galera! Our group of 3 stayed in the 3 rooms located right above the dive shop, which made it a BREEZE to zip down for an early dive and zip back up to our rooms for a break or a meal. The aircon and TV worked perfectly, and the rooms were really well mainained and clean!
FOOD
After eating at Capt'n Gregg's, it became hard to choose better spots along the coast for good food at a good price. The meals (especially the famous burgers!) were always bigger than expected and super tasty! I'd recommend trying the soups and the amazing tocilog if you're looking for something local.
STAFF
Chuck was manning the hotel while we were there, and his warm friendliness + savvyness around Puerto Galera will definitely bring us back for future trips!
The great Aaron was our dive master, and he did well to keep us safe and well-briefed while showing us all the great dive sites around the port. Knowing the sites like the back of his hand, he was able to tailor our dives and choose the sites depending on what we wanted to see. He was a perfect gentleman and helped us find transport to our next dive destination at Anilao! We look forward to diving with Aaron again and hope that you get the chance to dive with him on your journey to PG :)
