The church is very beautiful inside and outside. It is located near the plaza area of Basco in Batan Island of Batanes. Clergy house, seminary, and a clergy-run college are situated within its compound.

A beautiful church in Batan Island. Church is kept very clean and the parish priest is very cordial. They too have a quaint but nice adoration chapel. Worth the visit

The Basco Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, located in Basco, Batanes, is a symbol of both religious significance and architectural charm, dedicated to the Immaculate Conception and completed in 2008.

May 20, 2017 was the day our bride & groom would become one. Their families & friends were supposed to be in Batanes on May 19 but a fierce weather condition prevented us from landing in Basco. We headed back to Manila. The bride & groom booked the next flight out. That flight didn't even leave NAIA due to zero visibility in Basco. So, they cancelled their wedding. With our dear God's intervention, we, my husband (their ninong) & I, the bride & groom were able to travel & land successfully in Basco in the early afternoon of May 20. Their other family members & friends were unsuccessful in re-booking their flights. Their ninang (the couple had only one pair of principal sponsors), best man, some secondary sponsors, flower girl & ring / Bible bearer & their families were already in Basco early that week. The 4 pm wedding at the Tukon Chapel was cheerfully underway with a handful of attendees who were glad to be of service in one way or another. Fr. Ronaldo Manabat was the officiating priest. He seemed uptight and then he suddenly walked out of the wedding. The bride was 6 minutes late. Fr. Manabat had time to smoke a cigarette before boarding a tricycle bound for the cathedral. But he didn't have time to wait for the bride. All we wanted was a little understanding & compassion for the plight of our bride & groom which Fr. Manabat didn't give. We were truly thankful to our dear God that He allowed our bride & groom to finally wed, in spite of everything that had transpired, through Deacon John (I'm so sorry I didn't get his full name) who gave us a very heartwarming reflection. Thank you very much, Deacon John, you really are a man of the church and a man of God!

Five stars for Deacon John, no star for Fr. Manabat!

One of the heritage churches of Batanes, also known as Basco Cathedral and Santo Domingo Parish Church, founded by the Dominican Fathers.

Open to tourists for certain times during the day.
