Granja Porcon

I LOVE this place and their people! I highly recommend everybody to go their. And if possible, stay there for couple of days and take some tours organized by the people in the farm. There are five hostels in the farm including one for the group stay. They have an office in the main square and if the manager (Predro) is not at the office just ask around. Local people would love to help you find him!

What a soulful experience! Jhaser took incredible care of us alongside the community at Porcon! We went for a full day tour (we will be returning to stay overnight). We experienced a day full of adventure from horse riding, learning about the rescued zoo animals, fishing with a sugar cane, boat riding, cow calling as well as milking them, eating at one of their restaurants and many more activities.
The people there love their community and what they do and it shows through their own and heart.

This place is a zoo about an hour to an hour and a 1/2 outside of Cajamarca, Peru. It's not just any old zoo. It is a zoo that is high in the Peruvian mountains, very unique place very nice place to visit, highly recommend a visit.

Amazing place. The road has beautiful landscapes with stunning pine trees everywhere. The animals in the zoo seem to be treated very well.

Such a nice zoo and fishing area. The trucha frita was very good in their restaurant too. It's a fun place for the whole family to spend a few hours, or even the day if you want some time to just relax. :-)

Great place to hang out for one day. There are 2 big restaurants that will cost you about 20 soles.
The "zoo" is interesting. I really like the fact that you can get a bit closer to the animals, but make sure you don't loose any fingers. The fee you pay to enter the city counts as the visit to the zoo, so no need to pay someone else who asks you to for access to the place.

AMAZING VIEWS. They have a big zoo, you can walk all along. Also, Cajamarca (its region or prefrecture) is very popular for being a place where you can find dairy products and pastries. Almost all the national milk is from there so check it out. Local people make tasty marmalade of berries (cape gooseberry or blackberries) and please walk, don't make those horses carry you.
