What a gem of a spot! This place is a treasure trove of fluffy facts, organizing an alpaca-load of information on these adorable creatures and the magical process of turning their hair into stylish threads. Caught the alpacas in chill mode today, and honestly, who could blame them? With the sun out in full force, they were just vibing in the shade – absolute mood. The adventure can be a quick pop-in or a deep dive, ranging from a breezy 30 to a curious 60 minutes, all depending on your hunger for alpaca knowledge. The gift shop is a haven for alpaca apparel, boasting sweet deals that'll have you updating your wardrobe at a steal (30-60% off? Yes, please!). There's even a cozy cafeteria and several benches sprinkled outside for some well-deserved relaxation after your alpaca escapades. And the cherry on top? It's absolutely free! Counting down until your next visit? Because this is a must-see experience that gets all the thumbs up!

Unlike 99% of the stores in Arequipa, this store would not be out of place next to a Gucci store in a ritzy mall in the US. Definitely targeted to tourists, but despite that, the prices are quite good and the quality and design of the goods are very nice. They have a nice display of the history of the company and the way they make their products. And best of all is a petting zoo where you can see several llamas and alpacas!

Excellent centre to learn about the wool of llamas, alpacas and vicuñas. You can see llamas and alpacas, and if you’re lucky you can even feed them and pet them. It’s also possible to see women using traditional weaving techniques and visit the facilities where they process the wool. The shop is dangerous as you just want to buy everything, it offers beautiful and high quality clothes. And all this is for free! Except for the shop of course.

It's a very nice little tourist stop to meet alpacas. The store itself is clean and pretty high end, while at the back you can see the alpacas without stepping outside of the city limit. You can also observe how Peruvian clothings are made traditionally in the same area, and there is a little coffee shop near by as well. Tourists come in waves but overall not crowded, and very low pressure sales experience. Definitely family friendly and wheelchair friendly.

The great place where you can find out about llamas, alpacas or vicuñas, you can pet them, feed them, and learn how the clothes are made from their high-quality fur. Ans what's best, all thay is for free. Also there is a high-quality shop where you can buy products from alpacas.

Great place! We went just before closing, so didn’t have much time. But managed to interact with some lamas and alpacas. Personnel was very friendly and gave us some grass to feed them. Entrance was for free, but they definitely deserve a tip. Very much recommend. Such a pleasant experience with those cute animals.

We loved the whole experience. The highlights are of course the Alpakas and Llamas. But you could really feel and see they put a lot of money and effort in the museum. Recommend a visit.

The staff and guide were so helpful and informative, learnt some things about the animals, watched some cute llamas and alpacas play and saw the talented women making scarfs with the wool, unexpected experience around the corner from our accom in the city and it’s free! And the shop is full of beautiful authentic products

Wonderful place to learn about alpacas, get to interact with them, and then shop
the beautiful clothing. We visited 3 times during our stay in arequipa just because it was so lovely. The staff is wonderful as well.

My kids enjoyed it. It's a short free tour that was kid friendly. They have ethical practices for the animals and the weavers. And they have a very nice shop. We enjoyed our time there.

A great opportunity to learn about the process of making products from alpaca wool, and also to see alpacas and llamas up close (and even feed them!) The ladies in the shop were very friendly and helpful, and let me try on products! I ended up buying a pink scarf :)

Highly recommend a visit if you want to see how wool items are made. They also have llamas and alpacas you can see. They have women weaving as well, and the items they make are for sale. Entrance is free. At the end of the tour you're led to their store where you can find sweaters, ponchos, socks, etc. Definitely worth a visit especially since it's free.

This place is the best! Beside watching the alpaca's and llama's from upclose, you actually are given some useful info about them! Not a big tour, but definitively a recommended visit in Arequipa!

Great place to get up close with Llamas and Alpacas for free. There are very good quality clothes made from baby alpaca and Vicuna. Interesting information on placards in English and Spanish. You also see women sorting the wool and you get to feel Vicuna.

Nice place to visit with close encounter with the alpacas and lamas, and to know more about the woven artwork from the alpacas. Staffs are really nice too! Worth the visit!

Stop by and see the alpacas! You are given a very brief introduction to the animals and processes of harvesting their fur before being taken to the shop. Take your time and look around, hang with the alpacas and don’t feel pressured to buy unless you want to! But there are certainly worse places to buy your alpaca gear

It's free, and it's all about alpacas! What's not to love?

Came here earlier this year. My profile pic is of a vicuña head. Great place to learn about South American camelids. There is also a small exhibit/museum telling you the history of these animals etc.

Staff is bilingual and very welcoming. Very touristy as well.

Entrance is free and the location is in an alright area. Taxi ride from downtown takes 10 mins or so and only costs a few dollars. Don’t remember exactly how much though.

Bring a jacket as it can get a bit chilly at times.

There’s a huge pen where you can interact and feed the llamas, and aplacas. They are very friendly and cuddly, but beware that they can also spit and run away if they feel threatened.

There is also a store available selling a range of alpaca products. All of their merchandise is made in Peru and is well made. I bought a few items. They also sell some vicuña as well but it’s verrry expensive.

Vicuña scarves and gloves start from $500 USD and up. A vicuña jacket/blazer can cost as much as $18K USD. Feel free to try some vicuña items on as you’ll probably never own a vicuña item! It’s very soft and can only be experienced in person.

In conclusion, it’s a good place to spend a few hours and admire the scenery as well. Thanks. 🇵🇪🦙😍
