Mountain Rent a Car

As a travel agency guide, I hired a Subaru 4X4 from Mountain Rent a Car, with unlimited mileage for 10 days. The quote and answers to my questions were quick and precise. Hébert, my contact, was very helpful and made my arrival much easier by delivering the car to me even late at the airport, which was very much appreciated! Car in very good condition, few km, well prepared and suitable for high altitude passes! This agency, unlike the well-known names, offers EXCELLENT value for money. I particularly recommend it. 10/10!! This was my first time renting a car, let alone internationally, so I was super nervous. But the experience with Mountain Rent a Car was so easy and smooth. Car was in great condition, super thorough check beforehand with us to make sure everything was in order, insurance included. Super friendly service (plus they’ll drop off / pick up wherever you’re staying at no charge). I highly recommend!!

Mountain Rent a Car exceeded our expectations. We received a free upgrade when our booked car wasn't available. The car was spotless and seemed brand new. There were no hidden fees, and the pick-up/drop-off service was seamless. Highly recommend! Bonus: We utilized their one-way service, picking up in Arequipa and returning in Lima, it's pricey but cheaper than the flight, especially if you consider visiting Paracas/Ica on the way to Lima.

Amazing car rental experience! They came to our hotel with a car and in the end came to pick it up again. No need to go to a car rental office.

After Hertz had no car for the reservation I had, I reached out to Mountain. I wish I would have found them sooner. The online reservation was easy and communications on WhatsApp made the process efficient. They even dropped the car off at my hotel. My travel plans changed and they made it very easy to drop off in Juliaca instead of returning to Arequipa, and the price to change was reasonable. I highly recommend Mountain Rent a Car!

This is one of the best car rental experience I have ever had! I went to Peru more specific to Arequipa and I was in need of a good reliable car. I found this company online before the trip, I call ahead just to make sure all the information from website was accurate, I placed the reservation and every step of the process they were very professional and answered all my questions. The car was ready clean with a full tank of gas and it was almost a brand new Toyota. They went above and beyond with customer service, they arranged a taxi for me and my family when we were returning the car in order to get to the airport on time, they also help me transferring my luggage from the rental to the taxi. I recommend this car rental company because of the great experience I had with them. Keep up with the good work!!

What a great car rental experience! Planning our trip from the US was easy because Herbert was incredibly helpful and responsive on WhatsApp. And once we got here, everything was so easy because he met us at the airport, the car was new and clean, and really nice, and then he came to pick up the vehicle at our hotel here in Arequipa. We used the vehicle to visit the Colca canyon, and it made our experience so much better, because we could go at our own pace and avoid all the large tourist groups. I highly recommend Mountain Rent a Car!

We hired a Subaru Forester 4x4. The car was brand new, powerful, and very comfortable. Herbert was really helpful and quick on WhatsApp replies. The collection and return were smooth, and he helped us through any problems. We got a flat tyre on our last day and he repaired it for a very good price! Highly recommended 👌

Great experience renting a car in Arequipa with Mountain rent a car. Herbert was extremely helpful with questions responding to our many questions in whatsapp. We met Herbert at the Airport and did the paperwork right at the airport. This company is easier to use than North American rental car companies that hassle you for extra money on insurance and can be a pain in the butt.
This experience made our adventures possible and stress free. Highly recommend this company over any of your other car rental options!

Came to Peru-Arequipa for few days and found Superb experience with this agency, car was clean and super new at Pick up time. Agents are really responsive to any inquiry. Rates are really competitive compare with other agencies. Really recommend it.

Thanks Mountain Rent for excellent service and car. We choice Toyota Hilux and it was super clean (like a new) when we pick up and it has all we need for long ride.
We been changing car return time and location and Mountain Rent employees was very helpfull with that and not charge anything extra for that reason. All comunication via email and whatapp was excellent.

Excellent service and experience! Herbert, the owner, is such a nice and trustful guy! He even waited for me to arrive despite it was past 7pm (the delivery and closure time) because I got lost in Cusco's traffic. The car was a brand new Kia and the price was really fair. I truly recommend this car rental service!

Rented here, since it was the only renter who offered one way from Arequipa to Cusco and had no restrictions on which regions of Peru one can drive to.

We were quite worried and nervous about renting a car in Peru (because of all the stories we heard with unfair prices, rental agencies not paying back deposits etc) but from the moment we met Herbert we felt this was a trustworthy person and felroze ease. Herbert provided a decent car arcade fair price plus offered great service delivering the car at our hotel in Arequipa and picking it up in front of our hotel in Cusco. No problems whatsoever with getting our deposit back! A very positive experience and so I would advise everyone to rent from Mountain Rent a Car with Herbert!!

Had an amazing experience with this company! I was a little concerned since it wasn't a "brand name" but the online forums were right, you get much better treatment and prices from companies like Mountain.

They did free pick up & drop off from the airport and were very flexible on the time.

The only thing I would caution, which isn't really Mountain's fault, is that Google maps in Arequipa will take you on dirt roads which isn't covered by your rental agreement. Mountain was nice enough to send us a paved alternative and not charge me for the dirt roads I did take.

This is a family-run enterprise, and they couldn’t make doing business with them any easier or more pleasant! We will certainly rent from them again in the future and will recommend them to friends and family traveling in the Arequipa region.
