El Pelicano - Isla Bastimento

Cheryl and Mike have such a beautiful set up with mini apartments right on the water. Each suite is fully equipped with a mini kitchen and a super comfy bed. You can swim in the shallow water right off of their dock and the community area makes this a perfect location if you're travelling with a bigger group. We fully enjoyed our stay and look forward to our next trip!

I stayed at El Pelicano for the 4th time and, as always, it was an awesome experience. I was there for the holiday weekend and the town of Old Bank looked great! Way to go Basti and thank you to Mike and Cheryl of El Pelicano for being such kind and gracious hosts!

We cannot say enough great things about our time at El Pelicano! This is our 3rd trip to Bocas but our 1st time at El Pelicano and we will stay here every trip after. Great location, outstanding hosts and very comfortable accommodations, if you like warm Caribbean water right off of your deck this is the place to be. Kitchenette has everything you need to make a simple meal and to keep your Balboa cold. Cheryl and Mike are lovely and quickly became friends, they even took us to Floating Bar on their boat for live music Mondays. Snorkeling gear, beach towels, SUP’s and Kayaks to use at your leisure and in case you run out of Balboa (local beer,) Cheryl has thought of everything and even has an honor bar for convenience on the deck! Take the time to appreciate the unique place that is Bastimento, don’t miss Wizard Beach it is GORGEOUS!

El Pelicano is an accommodation right on the water, you wake up with the best view! The rooms are super comfortable with everything that you need. Cheryl is such a warm host who provides you with all the best tips about tours, restaurants and watertaxi’s. We felt so at home because of her! Wish we could have stayed longer. Definitely will be back if we visit Bocas again.

This is - hands down - THE BEST place to stay in Bastimentos. If that’s your destination - El Pelicano is your place. The rooms are compact but very comfortable. The hosts have literally thought of - and provided - every possible thing to add to your comfort. The kitchen - though compact has literally everything you need and more - far superior to any others we’ve had at other AirBnB locations. Your hosts are very friendly & welcoming - and they go out of their way to ensure you enjoy your stay. There’s a great bar/lounge area to hang out in. Snorkel gear, SUP boards, floating chairs, and a bar that is based on the honour system. It’s hot - but the Caribbean Sea is literally AT your doorstep!! JUMP IN!!!!

I heard of El Pelicano from a friend and decided to try it. What a beautiful place! The owners have it set up for your every convenience. They even have a trusted local taxi boat driver who will take you right to them! I would definitely stay here again and will recommend it to my friends who come to visit. The island of Bastimentos is colorful and tropical just as I imagined it would be.

Fabulous 2 room guest house owned by an American couple. Room was clean and had all the amenities...I mean all the amenities. The kitchenette area has pineapple corer, wine bottle stopper, coffee maker, stove top and bathroom has a bidet

My favorite part was the private dock with free use of kayak. Stand-up paddle board, snorkel gear and rafts for swimming right off dock. View is gorgeous too. Be advised that there are quite a few steps to reach the room.

Water taxi easy to flag down if you want to get to another island. But walking through town and over to Wizard beach is a great adventure in itself.

Plan to use only cash. English spoken everywhere.

This place was OUTSTANDING! Wake up in the morning, step onto your porch and jump straight into the water. We had an amazing week of paddleboarding, snorkeling, swimming, zip lining, hiking to amazing pristine beaches, and seeing a wide variety of wildlife. Mike and Cheryl at El Pelicano took care of all our needs and provided loads of gear and insights into how to make the most of our time. The only regret I have is that I don't live at this place. I highly recommend El Pelicano for those who love adventure travel!

Eine super Unterkunft mit super Gastgebern. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Sogar SUPs, Schnorchelausrüstung, wasserdichte Handyhüllen etc. wurden kostenlos zur Verfügung gestellt. Die Küche ist voll ausgestattet und ebenso sind Zimmer und Badezimmer top. Der gemeinschaftliche Bereich am Dock lädt zum relaxen, sonnen, schwimmen und Darten ein. Einen Tag haben uns cheryl und Mike gemeinsam mit ein paar weiteren Gästen in ihrem Boot mit zur Floating Bar genommen. Ein schöner Trip. Wir können diese Unterkunft nur jedem empfehlen!

Eine sehr schöne, ruhig gelegene Unterkunft mit einer super netten und zuvorkommenden Gastgeberin, die sich um jedes Anliegen kümmert. Die Zimmer sind sauber und bestens ausgestattet, mit Strand- und Badetüchern, Tauchhüllen, einem Entfeuchter, einer kompletten Küchenzeile, Anti Moskito Kerzen, usw. Im Gemeinschaftsbereich am Wasser kann man sich kostenlos SUP‘s, Wassermatten oder ein Kayak ausleihen. Es hat uns sehr gefreut, unsere Zeit auf den Bocas Inseln hier verbracht zu haben!

Eine wahnsinnig zuvorkommende und nette Gastgeberin. Cheryl denkt an alles und weiß ihre Gäste zu verwöhnen. Die Aussicht aus der Hängematte ist traumhaft & das Zimmer war sehr sauber. Das Badezimmer war nagelneu und die Küche war bestens ausgestattet.
Cheryl versorgte uns mit allerlei nützlichen Infos über Wassertaxis, Touren rund um Bastimentos und empfahl uns Restaurants. Wer Bastimentos besuchen möchte und auf europäischen Standard nicht verzichten will ist hier genau richtig.
